Perfect for Background Noise Without Disturbing Others โ Surprisingly Versatile
I purchased these MMUSS ultra thin pillow speakers because I need background noise to fall asleep, and they work perfectly for that purpose. The speakers are thin and soft enough to place under a pillowcase, allowing me to listen comfortably without disturbing my husband. Itโs a great solution if you want sleep headphones without wearing anything in your ears. What I didnโt expect is how versatile these would be beyond just sleep use. I often use them during the day by slipping one under the ear cup of my work headset. This lets me listen to music or a podcast while still being able to hear when a call comes in, which has been incredibly convenient. The sound quality is appropriate for close-range listening, especially for background audio like white noise, podcasts, or music. Overall, these are a simple but very effective solution for sleep audio and low-profile listening, especially if you need something comfortable, discreet, and multi-purpose.

So thin you can put them on the top of the pillow!
I've been using pillow speakers for years, always underneath the pillow. Sound quality suffered... With these, they are only 3 or so mm thick, they're flexible and soft so you can put them on top of the pillow (inside the pillow cover). Sound quality much better -- surprising for the small size. They're quite sensitive to small movements of the ear -- a few millimeters away from the center of the speaker, and you hear less...a few more millimeters and you hear nothing. I've used these for about 4 months, so far no problems. They aren't super heavy duty, but that's the way it has to be for something as slim and light as these.

Great little speakers.
Very comfortable, soft foam speakers. The right sound speaker is labled. There is a distinct difference between the volume from front to back of the speakers, so you can tell which is the correct side. I popped them into an old pair of behind the neck earmuffs; good sound, but volume only adjust through your sound source, like a roku controller. They moved around too much in the pillowcase, little pockets could be sewn in to keep them from moving. I'm pretty rough on any headsets and have only had these for about a week. We'll see how they hold up.

WASTE OF MONEY (updated August 2022)
Updated review So I've already complained about how quickly these things stop working in previous reviews. I gave it one last shot. This time I also purchased Spiral Cable Protectors and SUGRU Flexible Adhesive Putty to protect these stupid Sleep Headphones. I put the Spiral Cable Protector on and then encased the whole thing in Sugru. Guess what? 2 months later one of the ears isn't working. Just like last time and the time before. This product is too flimsy to be on the market! It is a waste of money. ------- Previous Review Below: If you toss and turn even slightly, don't expect them to last more than a few weeks. I finally got around to repairing them myself and once again within 3 weeks a problem developed in another section of the wire. I fixed that problem and within a month there was another broken part of the wire. I can also confirm that SEVERAL replacement earphones that can fit inside of this product are also trash. Between the time I bought my first instance of this product and now I've purchased 2 of this exact product and 5 different replace earphones from different vendors. ALL ARE TRASH. They all develop a break in the product within a few weeks. I advised a friend to buy this exact product AND a wire protector AND to encase the entire wire within SUGRU and guess what? It still stopped working after a few weeks. The world desperately needs decent sleep phones at a reasonable price but this one ain't it.

Thin speakers, works well for sleeping on a pillow
These are the only pillow speakers that work well for me. They are thin and put out enough sound so I can listen to audio books and podcasts, but without disturbing anyone else. I wish they were better made. There are a couple of things I wished were improved. 1) The adhesive used for the cloth covering. This is my third purchase of this brand of pillow speakers and they usually last for about 6 months before the cloth covering the flat speaker comes off. It just doesn't last very long. I could tell there was a great improvement in the materials of my second purchase of this product vs. the first, but the adhesive still failed after a few months. I'm hoping my third purchase will be even better. 2) I wish there was a quick and easy way to tell which side of the speaker to put next to your ear. The two pillow speakers are flat disks covered on both sides with the same type of cloth. There is no way at night to tell which side of the speaker to put next to your ear. You have to put one side next to your ear and then flip it over to hear if the sound is loudest on that side. An improvement would to have a difference in texture on both sides so you can figure this out just by touching them. Or have the side next to your ear covered in nice, soft material and the other side have something that isn't. 3) It's difficult to listen to both pillow speakers for stereo sound without using a headband or other such device. It would be nice to somehow have a way to attach these to your ears so you can listen to both speakers at the same time. This would also help as you moved your head from one side to the other on the pillow or if you slept on your back. I just use one at a time by placing a speaker on my pillow and then my head on top of it. The other speaker is off to the side and not used and I can't listen to these speakers while I'm on my back and my ears are not against the pillow. Overall, these pillow speakers are inexpensive, thin, and comfortable that produce enough sound and clarity for my purposes, listening to audio books and podcasts at night. If there was a better product out there that improved on the 3 things I've listed above, I would purchase them instead.

Cat owners take heart - chew-resistant wires!
I've lost count of the number of sleep-headband headphones (CozyPhones, SleepPhones, etc.) I've gone through thanks to my cat's insatiable appetite for the cloth-jacketed wires those headphones use. She won't touch normal rubber-jacketed wires, but something about the texture of the cloth coating is like kitty super-crack to her. I've tried the wireless Bluetooth variants but the rapidly-waning battery life coupled with the jarring "YOUR DEVICE IS CONNECTED" and "YOUR HEADSET IS DISCONNECTED" signals that disregard volume settings and jar you awake just as you're drifting off make the BT models an unworkable solution. I've tried diligently wrapping my headphones up in a drawstring bag every morning when I wake up, which worked for a while until one night she just chewed them up in my sleep. I've tried dipping the wire in bittering anti-chew spray, but have fun with that when you accidentally get the wire in your own mouth as you roll over on it in the middle of the night. It was a long-running game of cat and mouse (no pun intended) and I was losing badly, to the tune of $20 or more per pair of headphones she ruined. Enter these little bad-boys. They do the same thing the original speakers do: sit flat and output sound. The kicker, though, is that the wire is thicker and uses a different coating from the OEM speakers. Still cloth, but coarser and heavier. Enough so that my cat has no interest in them. I've left them sitting out on the bed, no drawstring bag, for weeks and she wants nothing to do with them. You're not going to get B&W or Paradigm or Klipsch quality sound out of these and they're not going to blow you away, which is probably a good thing since you're ostensibly wearing these to go to sleep. For the price, they work and sound great - indistinguishable, to the best of my ability to tell, from the original speakers. They're stereo headphones with a bog-standard 3.5mm connector, tried-and-true, nothing fancy to go wrong, age-old technology that's had all its bugs hammered out decades ago. Plus, if my little gremlin does eventually develop a taste for them, they're much less expensive to replace and you can keep using the same cloth headband. These are a no-brainer.

Perfect speakers for your pillow!
I love these speakers! I have tinnitus so getting to sleep can often be a challenge. However these speakers enabled me to develop my own unique solution. Using 2โ inch diameter circular velcro tabs I velcroโd these speakers to my pillow. Then, using a 3.5 mm stereo extension cable, I connect them to my iPad and play music or white noise. This isolates the sound do that I can hear the sound loud and clear, but my wife doesnโt hear a thing and therefore isnโt bothered at all by the sound. Granted, I have to change them out every 18 months or so, but theyโre cheap enough that I bought six pairs, so Iโm good to go for many years.

Loved and lost, but would love again.
I received these speakers on August 9th 2019. As of this review it is November 3rd, so I've been using them every night for about 3 months. Initially, I was very pleased with them. They are comfortable, and fit well in an old SleepPhones headband I own. The sound quality and volume are both good for listening to music, movies and YouTube videos while lying down on a pillow. I enjoyed many nights of falling asleep while listening to my favorite music or documentaries. This all changed a day ago when the left speaker started to cut out intermittently. Just last night, the sound in the left speaker began to cut in and out every time I moved. I discovered the problem to be the connection of the wire at the base of the headphone jack. When I wiggle the wire, I can find a position that enables audio in the left speaker, but it is difficult to maintain. The rubber boot that protects the wire connection to the headphone jack looks very sturdy, so I am surprised that it took only 3 months to damage the wire through normal use. It has endured some tugging due to me sometimes turning in my sleep, but no more than a set of Panasonic earbud headphones that I've used for much longer, which have endured harsher treatment, both during day and night time use. Overall, I really like these Sleep Ultra Thin Pillow Speakers. They are very affordable, comfortable, and have good sound and volume. The reason for the low rating is the poor durability of the pair I received. I had previously owned a pair of these speakers with an in-line volume and play/pause control, but they failed when the wire disconnected from the in-line controller. I purchased the pair with no controller hoping they would be more durable. Sadly, they were not. -B

Love these
Excellent product. These speakers are low tech but theyโre perfect for helping me to fall asleep by listening to audiobooks, podcasts, nature sounds or white noise. They come well packaged in a nifty plastic case.

Sounds volume
The sound of the headphones is lower 10 ~ 15% comparing to the common headphones

A good bargain!
It was a pleasant surprise to receive the speakers in two weeks instead of the anticipated six weeks plus! They were well packaged and the sound quality is perfect to replace the previous speakers in my sleep headphone.

Difficult to keep on during the night
Shame they donโt come with a neat slim comfy headband as very difficult to find appropriate attachment to wear to keep them on during the night. Good concept but needs to include a lightweight headband
