For those who appreciate the delicate and timeless art of Faberge, this reproduction from Design Toscano is sure to warm their heart. The enamel work is beautiful, and they have done a great job at capturing all of the intricate details of the original piece. This is not a small egg, it stands a good 6 in high, and will definitely be a perfect centerpiece to any collection. To be honest, when I ordered this piece, I was not expecting much. But I was very pleasantly surprised by both its quality and stunning looks. The molded metal work is precise and beautiful, as are the faux gems and pearls.From the pictures here on the Amazon product page, it appears Design Toscano may also offer the egg in an alternate, blue or turquoise color. It looks amazing, as well. This is one case where the pictures do not do this piece of art justice. The egg is so much more lovely in person, and, given the overall quality and detail, the price is more than reasonable. I can't think of a nicer gift for someone who appreciates and/or collects decorated eggs.

No need to be concerned about the quality of this recreation--this Faberge egg replica is made with high attention to detail. It's a good weight for its size (no cheap plastic here!). There are no smears or smudges in the decorations, every gemstone is perfectly placed, and the enamel has a depth to its color that is difficult for the picture to capture adequately. The lid is not hinged, so there is no "bad side." This is beautiful from any angle, and the inner cavity is just large enough to hide a few small pieces of jewelry or a key. The egg is about 3.5 inches tall, and the diameter where the lid meets the box is smidge bigger than 2 inches. The whole thing stands about 6 inches tall (including egg and 'pedestal'). This is beautiful way to bring an "objet d'art" into your home at an affordable price.
