Received my fan today is it ment to get hot at the back

Got my fan today. After an hour noticed a smell, the motor has got very hot, almost too hot to touch. I’m wondering if this is normal? I was hoping to run it for 6-7 hours every day in my home office, will find out tomorrow if it’s up to it. If not it’s going back. Will post result on here.

Fan arrived with fan blades not attached to spinning rod. What is the correct way to attach the two together?

It’s badly assembled and I would advise sending it back. I tried to post a video showing how noisy this fan is however Amazon would post it.
