Well made, love that there’s a carabiner and clip so there are several options on how to put it on. The plastic sleeve is super clear, can easily see the id and seems very sturdy as well. I think it would be able to withstand rowdy teenage boys who will be using it

Great product! I bought them 4 years ago, lost one but the other last all 4 years before the plastic finally wore off where the badge rests. I would say that’s very good value for your money!

Good quality, did the job

After 3.5 years, the reel mechanism finally gave out. I've worked as a security guard during that entire time, so I'm constantly scanning my badge 5+ days a week. Since then, the clip still looks brand new (minus a few hairline scratches) and the clip still works no problem. Everything I had on the clip weighs 1/8 lb, which is better than any of the company freebie badge reels I've been offered. The reel mechanism is strong, fast and clearly durable. I'd recommend investing in this over the free ones. I'm definitely getting another set after this review.

This is an excellent purchase for your student who needs to wear their ID badge at all times. It is sturdy and preferred over a lanyard hanging their your necks. A+ back-to-school purchase.

I really wasn't expecting anything as nice as this at all! They are nice and solid, feel very well put together, and the retracting cord & the mechanism are super strong. I absolutely love that it has both a carabiner-type clip and a regular clip on the back for like a shirt pocket or lapel. Not to mention, the locking pouch for the actual badge itself completely seals and that whole entire part is water proof - which is GREAT because I bought these for my friends and I to put our (cardboard) chairlift passes in it.The only minor concern is that the retracting mechanism is so strong, that if you let it whip back into place after pulling it out, it will split the plastic piece apart at the button where it attaches to the badge holder. Not a big enough deal to me to subtract a star, but I will probably use the key ring part on the badge holder just in case. Or, you know, don't let it whip violently back into place in the first place lol.

I purchased these badge holders/retractable clips over a year ago, 15 months ago to be exact. I am a custodian in a college dorm with many locked doors and security key box that require key card swiping for entry. I go in and out of these doors over and over. The first retractable clip just broke today and it was actually the piece that attaches to the badge holder. The rest of the clip works fine but because I'm not able to trust the attachment to the id/key card that has access to every door, I need to replace. I replaced the first clear plastic badge holder a while ago with the second one but it lasted at least 6 months in very wet conditions (cleaning showers) with chemicals thrown in the mix. I pull on and retract the id/key card for entry numerous times all day long, it gets caught on furniture, counters, equipment, etc. and snaps back and has lasted this long. The thing has been practically indestructible for what I would consider a reasonable time for the price and the abuse it's been subjected to. Gladly buying again.
