So happy to own three! Hardly ever have the moment to write reviews especially long ones … but this one deserves much needed review to help anyone else who has lost a dog related to the common complications related to spay surgery.Upon receiving our first one, was overwhelmed looking at all the straps. It looked like a puzzle. However, to much surprise, our family became familiar with it in no time. The key was adjusting the straps just right based on her rump and allowing her natural shape be observed while wearing it, then providing micro adjustments. We don’t let her run around all day with it, or sleep with it, as that’s not practical. It is a life saver, a real stress reducer when she’s playing with her two intact/ non-neutered brothers. She experiences silent heats in between regular heats so she always wears the PABS when mingling with them. We have trained her brothers to become used to it. They don’t try to chew it off because of the training. She doesn’t mind it at all. We put a vest over it and a dog shirt underneath it in the winter.Purchased the size large. She is 14 months old weighing 40lbs so far in the photos. As she grows she will still be fitting into it (most likely to weigh around 55lbs fully grown). Bought two more received today. The extra ones are very convenient. Always having a clean one ready to go.We lost our last female GSP Heidi to Addisons disease related to spaying her too early at 6 months old. Her cognition changed and was left incontinent post surgery. After researching the cause of Addisons disease, was astounded at the statistics and information that was presented regarding health problems related spaying or neutering a dog too early. Lots of information was available on the subject matter. I learned that a dogs hormones are essential in every part of a dog’s health, brain, & growth. I won’t be spaying Holly as she may be bred.Really appreciate the really good customer service from the company. They helped us select the right size/ fit for Holly. Both orders were received much sooner than anticipated. I hope they never stop making them.

UPDATE 8/3/23: Guess what?! This stupid thing doesn't work! We had it applied per the instructions, but our boy dog STILL found a way around it. Now we're expecting puppies any day now. Seriously, don't bother wasting your money on this product. Between its ineffectiveness and lousy design, this was a waste of $50.We bought this because we weren't ready to spay our female or male Huskies yet. When it arrived, two things came to my mind 1). The instructions were too vague given how many connections and straps were on this thing 2). My dogs are going to chew this thing up.I finally figured out how to put it on my dog, but the second part came true in about a week when our male managed to chew through the stupid thing. I've duct taped it three times and they always manage to chew through it. I feel like reinforced nylon or something would have made a better product.

We have used this set up for the last year to help avoid unwanted pregnancies. Even with two (over 100 pounds) male golden retrievers, we have had good results. The male dogs will aggressively try to chew the PABS system off of our female--usually targeting the strap that goes down the back (which they've done once). It's only 10 dollars to replace the back strap--and like maintenance on any product that you use over and over--it's not a big deal. We even keep a spare now just in case. It's great because you can keep it on all the time, even during bathroom breaks. I would say it's important to be aware of where and what your dogs are doing. Just like I don't always trust the fence in our backyard, I stay aware of where they are and what they're up to while the female is in heat. Plus, it's a small business and the customer service has been outstanding. They are nice people who want you to be happy with the product.
