Wild Planet best canned fish product
In my opinion, Wild Planet has the best canned fish products by far. I always buy Wild Planet and I highly recomend.

Even better than--and totally different from-- traditional anchovies
These came promptly and they are DELICIOUS. These are nothing even remotely like oil-and-salt-packed, traditional anchovies. Not by a long shot; these are a wholly different thing, so they are not necessarily to everyone's taste, but I really enjoy them. That said, these taste MUCH saltier than they actually are, in terms of real sodium content. They taste in some ways kind of like the ocean smells. This would be a great product for people on a low-salt diet. They also taste distinctly of their rich omega-3 content. It's a fatty, rich, intensely umami flavor that I've experienced in omega-3 enriched eggs as well. It's fishy in the sense that it tastes like fresh fish (not fish going bad). These are a super tasty, healthy option for busy people who need a "backup" dinner in case they get caught up in something during the evening. Would highly recommend to anyone with an adventurous palette.

Taste and look like sardines.
They're basically sardines. Only they're not actually sardines. Maybe. Sardine cans contain varying species of fish in the first place; maybe some companies can what's in these tins into sardine packs too. In any case, they taste like milder tuna-ey sardines. Decent stuff. Good everyday eating sardiney things. I should have gotten the EVOO-packed ones, though, as Wild Planet uses decent-tasting olive oil. But yeah. Don't buy these if you want salty little fish!

delicious, my preferred style of anchovy
Delicious and not too salty. I love the appearance, not sure what the issue is. These are not the typical salty strips. I prefer them for cooking, meals, or snacking on.

Sardines by any name?
These are larger than anchovies I am used to. And no where near as salty. Looks and tastes just like sardines. I was a bit nervous, about ordering them. That they would be too salty, and this is the first time I have ordered tinned fish in water/own juices. To be honest, these are great on salads, just like tuna. And, with the right dressing, I just dump the whole tin, fluids and meat, onto the salad. It really tastes much like tuna, but without the risk of higher mercury, and whatnot. Very good. I haven't tried them, technically, all on their own. But I did sample some of what I put on the salad separately. These taste just fine. I just don't trust "extra virgin olive oil" in tinned fish. And, that shouldn't be heated, anyway. Cold pressed is the only way to get the real stuff, so cooking it, with fish, in a tin, doesn't... seem like it would work out well. Very good.

NOT ANCHOVIES BUYER BEWARE
Loved the price usually get Cento or Roland but these just aren't anything close to anchovies in appearance or taste, more like sardines so if you like that salty anchovy tang forget these. What i usually do with Cento is open all the little cans and store them in an air tight container to avoid the hassle of opening them up the cans when needed fast and never spoil even for weeks totally fresh. I filled the usual container with these and when i opened it 2 weeks later the color looked suspect and the smell was worse SPOILED. Unbelievable! threw them out and called AMZ to get a refund. I really need to learn to read reviews first because lots of agreements that these are lousy tasting sardines NOT ANCHOVIES!!!

These are full body fish, more like sardines than anchovies
They are more like sardines in taste and size than typical anchovies. They taste okay, but was expecting standard salty anchovies.
