SilenXEFX-08-15 Effizio 80x25mm 15dBA 32CFM PC Computer Case Fan -

I recently purchased these fans to replace some DoA ones that came with another product. I selected the SilenX fans because they had the best ratio of cfm-to-dB that I could find on any fan. They were the quietest fan (15 dB) that I found, and they move as much or more air (33 cfm) than most of the other 80mm fans I found. The price of $6.99 was only a dollar or two more expensive than inferior 80mm fans. I decided to put one to the test, and even with it next to my ear I could not even hear it over the din of the CPU fan and case fans. I was quite impressed.I have not owned these for long enough to see what failure rates are like, but quieter fans mean less friction between moving parts, and so I'm hoping that they last a long time.

All I can say is... wow, that is the quietest fan I've ever heard. And it still pushes an amazing amount of air with little power draw. It's quite surreal. I just don't understand why ALL fans aren't like this one, especially considering that the price was only a dollar or two above the cheap & noisy fans.

I bought this to replace my 92mm case fan which I thought, originally, was 80mm. I was able to use it elsewhere in my PC. The stock CPU fan and original case fan are actually quieter than this Silenx fan. It's made well, it's a good looking fan, and it has decent air flow, but I can't say I'm particularly impressed with it. Aesthetically, it looks good and matches my "theme", but I don't think I would purchase any Silenx products in the future as their "claim to fame" is silence and I haven't found it to be that impressive in that arena. I'm going to go with Noctua fans now.

It’s really quite I barely hear it at full load .I took one star though as I think it’s a bit expensive

I replaced a noisy computer case fan with this fan. Like other reviewers, I too found it to be totally silent.

These fans are NOT quiet, especially for the money. They emit a whine-like hum that fills the whole room. Returning.

I put some new hardware into my ASUS desktop and worried about heat. I added two of these fans, and I never even noticed a noise increase in the machine and all the components stay cool and fully operational. Adding two hard drives, an SSD and more memory did not in any way cause an issue once the fans were put in.

Barely audible even at full speed, yet puts out a significant amount of air. good for applications where speed control/PWM isnt an option, used it to replace fans on an aging GPU since OEM parts werent available.
