I love the wood design on this. The bristles are soft so they it doesn't feel like it will hurt the top of my head. Unfortunately it doesn't detangle as well as I'd like, it feels not strong enough. I have thin hair but a lot of it, so maybe that's why. The comb is easy to use and clean.

This is my first boar brush, other than a knock off round brush years ago. I bought the Black Egg based on an article about the best brushes for thinning curly hair and only knew a little about what to expect based on that explanation.Well, I'm impressed! I've been a traditional paddle brush user all my life because I had thick hair, but now that I'm losing my hair, the paddle brush is too harsh. The Black Egg boar brush is fantastic, though! I was able to use it to detangle some minor twists, but I'll probably still use my curl comb for the bigger jobs. What really won me over, though, was how smooth my hair was. I'm used to having flyaways and needing product to smooth my ponytails/buns, but this brush made everything lay flat, smooth, and shiny!Last thing is the size, weight, and grip of the brush. I have fairly small hands and often get joint pain while doing fine motor tasks. So far the grip on this brush seems to be a good width for my hand, and the weight feels balanced from the top to the handle. The bristles are a good stiffness, and it has the "pillow" that helps with shaping and brushing in a natural position.The little comb and hair ties that come with the brush probably won't get used. The comb was too small for my hands to hold comfortably and didn't seem to do much. The hair ties, being the plastic kind, aren't my style.

I want to preface this with saying my hair is already damaged since I used to bleach and dye it often, if your hair is already healthy then you might not have the same issues I did.My hair is very fine and it's always been frizzy while drying, but I don't think this brush helped much. It was difficult to run it through my hair even after going in with a detangling brush first and actively made it even frizzer than before; this is especially true for the shorter layers in my hair.It kind of feels abrasive even when I'm brushing my hair while its oily before a shower. I'm not expecting a brush to be super soft or whatever, but I don't think it would suit anyone with sensitive skin/scalp or if you already have damaged hair. It didn't work as a detangler, it didn't work as a normal brush, I ended up just using it to brush my dog's fur instead of my hair so it wouldn't be a wasted purchase. It works fine on their fur, and their fur is a lot thicker than my hair, so... Maybe you'll have better luck if you have thick hair? Not a great comparison but it's something.So like... Yeah it brushes your hair so it functions as a brush, but I think I'll stick with other types of brushes since it just didn't work for me.

Very soft , bristles are shorter than I thought they would b . But very gentle on hair . My hair is shoulder length . Very nice brush overall .

My brushes pull a lot of hair out, and I’m already thinning out due to age. I decided to try a softer brush and it’s great. A really good side benefit is that it actually seems to “polish” my hair, making it shine. I would have loved something like this brush decades ago. I have shoulder length somewhat curly hair. It does kinda brush the curls out which is the only downside if you like your curls. I could never find a brush this soft in stores, so this is a real find for me.

It's an good hair brush. Not exceptional not great. Seems to be built well just prefer longer bristles.
