So, just my opinion, but this is hands down, the best espresso bean available on the market. The prices is great and the shipping was quick. Coming from an Italian family, I have drank espresso, cappuccinos, etc, for a majority of my life. I have had real Italian espresso in Italy and this hits the mark. Lavazza is a very well known brand and you can't go wrong with this bean. Makes a very smooth, yet robust cup of espresso. Absolutely no bitter after taste. It works great in our new DeLonghi automatic machine. The smell and taste is phenomenal. Get some, you can't go wrong.

good buy for wonderful coffee!

We recently needed to find a new source for our coffee. We had been using a local roaster's product that we really liked and had used for years, but ran into supply chain issues, so to speak. So, we spent several months trying to find an espresso roast that we liked and didn't increase our cost to much. We had a great relationship with the local roaster's supplier and were paying a great price for the product, and since go through 5 lbs or more of coffee a month, greatly increasing cost was a bit of a concern. We have tried most other local roasters, at least the ones that were somewhat convenient, but didn't like them very much. Most are too floral or flat for me. I really like a nice crema with a tart, crisp espresso, which takes a fairly high acidity to provide those characteristics. During a Christmas party for my wife's company at a local NICE Italian restaurant, we ordered espresso and were quite impressed with it. I found out that the restaurant used Lavazza and so we started ordering various Lavazza roasts through Amazon. I was rather dubious at first, because I had exclusively used products from locals roasters for a long time. Ordering through the internet, sounded dubious at best. But, I was quite surprised with the Lavazza products. While we didn't like all of them, just due to our personal preferences, several were very nice. We ultimately settled on this one. Being PRIME customers and receiving free shipping, if we buy these in the double bundle, our cost only goes up between 10% to 20%, which is quite less than retail for what we were used to with local roasters. If you like straight espresso like me, this is a great product. For a standard 1 oz pull (with my Gaggia Academia), this is VERY smooth, with a moderate crema, yet tart and crisp. Very nice. Who would have thought I would LOVE coffee you order through the internet and prefer it over a local roaster? :) If you like diluted drinks, like Americanos as my wife does, this can be a bit weak for a drink over 6 oz. You will definitely want to pull a longer shot for larger Americanos. This is now our favorite espresso roast for sure.
