Highly recommend
I don't know what other people were whining about! This laptop is great! I love that the screen is a bigger size because it makes editing photos so much easier! The battery life is great and I've had no problems with a black or blue screen when I turn it on. Honestly, that might just be people hitting the power button too many times. The speakers are great and the processing power is awesome! I am able to get so much done so quickly! I love the durability of this laptop too! It's still super light and easy to carry around though! Highly recommend this laptop!

Great Computer
I bought two of these laptops. One for my son who is going to college and my daughter who is heading to high school. I used to build my own computers so I knew what I wanted and this was it. I only purchase Intel processors and the i5 in this one is just perfect for what they were going to use it for. They wanted MacBooks which would have run at least $1000 more per machine. They both have iPhone Xs so most everything they will be doing will be one those phones. There was not need for the MacBook because the HP Laptop will be used for some browsing and word processing. 16GB RAM and the 512 SSD HD is more than they need. I wanted the SSD HD because of the mobility of these units, they would be less likely to have a failure if they get bumped. I have been buying HP machines for the last 15 years and am always happy with what they build.

It's a bit above your average laptop in its price range
I've been using this laptop for over a year so I feel more confident in reviewing this product. Overall, it's been alright - better than average for laptops in this price range ($500-750 bracket, I guess), but with a collection of small issues that altogether annoy me enough to knock off a star for sure. Battery life: was seemingly fantastic at first, lasting lie 5 hours off-charge while I worked on word documents and such. Nowadays, I get perhaps 3 hours. Oh and another small pet peeve: as far as I can tell, there's no way to have the computer tell you in time units how much battery life is (only %). Fan: randomly gets really noisy! I'll check Task Manager to see what the hell is making my fans work so hard but I've never found anything out of the ordinary. I got an air duster to try to clean the fans (thinking that maybe it was just dust buildup) and that led me to the next issue... Opening the laptop: maybe I'm just dumb but I cannot for the life of me figure out how to open this laptop. So, no modding in anyway possible either. However, the laptop doesn't lag or freeze like some I've used in the past, run most games (with low-level graphics) pretty well, and can handle a lot of things being open at once (well, except the fan goes into overdrive, as mentioned earlier). And the touchscreen still works well. So, nothing huge to complain about.

No Regrets
I love this laptop. It's so user friendly. Everyone that sees it are in awe with it. The only problem that I have is that I'm so use to the touchscreen that it's hard to use a computer that is not. I have been conformed.

If you have problems, you are on your own
The seller is unhelpful. Buyer Beware I have had this computer for 7 months. Originally, I had someone at work vet this machine and they concluded that the stats were good, especially for the price. I have had my other laptop for 5 years and it is a bit slower and I am going to school again so I wanted something faster. I didn’t this computer the HP pavillion very much, but it seemed easy enough to use. Once class started though and I downloaded Chrome and word, it started freezing. In the middle of writing documents, during searches, etc... it would only work for 10-20 min and then it would freeze and shutdown. I contacted the seller through email and I didn’t get a response for 3 days. I was then told to do a “bio”. Since it is an outside seller, Amazon couldn’t help. I reset the computer, still freezing. I reset it again, still freezing. I left it alone for several months because I was busy and customer service was not helpful. I tried writing them 2 other times, called. I waited on hold for 15 minutes and then the operating system told me that they could t take my call, I left a message. I have not received return emails or a return phone call. You will receive no help from the seller. I have had the computer less than a year and the only thing that has temporarily work is deleting the few files I had on the computer and hard re-setting the computer twice. HP also has been too busy to help. If you are computer savvy, you might not like this computer because you can’t open it up. If you are not computer savvy, expect no help. Don’t take your chances. My old laptop is an Asus, it is slow after 5 years but I have been able to use it instead. Do your homework. I don’t Reccommend this computer or seller.

Great computer
Great computer. I have used it nearly a year and the computer performance is great. Is great for school, the only thing that Might be against it is its size. I big and might not be the best option, however that is my opinion. Great battery life and performance! Highly recommend

Lightweight but Easily Scratched Up
I like that it's pretty lightweight for the size. I hate that the outer design is easily scratched and that I have to buy a case for the outer parts of it, now it just looks weird. Not sure why HP switched to this new odd look. It also has a delay in connecting wirelessly sometimes, but restarting or running the Troubleshooter tool seems to usually fix it quickly. Update on 11/11/19: I love this laptop. I have a smaller more mobile one, but carry this one because it is so great to work with. Having touch screen is awesome, and the lighted keyboard. It is fast and it has amazing sound. Really glad I bought this one.

Economy and Speed Make for a Dynamic Duo
I finally migrated from a desktop to a laptop and am glad I did. Got exactly what I wanted at a reasonable price via Amazon. I love the speed at which I can access everything. No more waiting for things to "warm up."
