cheap and efficient.
I purchased a tiny 8 gallon HOB for my 20 gallon tank for the only purpose of using purigen in it. I don't need it to actually filter my tank. It works amazingly well and was ridiculously easy to set up. Using it for a regular filter...I honestly coudln't tell you the efficiency. But it does pull the water through very well and it's extremely quiet. I removed the cartridges from it and just put the purigen in it and within 6 hours it had removed most of the tannins from my tank so it's "filtering" through the 20 gallon tank extremely well.

I was hesitant, Happy I bought it
21 gallon long tank, it does the job. The box is ample enough you can use any media you wish. There is no divider, there is nothing in the way. The flow is easily controllable.Have had no issues with it overflowing, ceasing, no issues at all. It does come with a sponge filter for the draw tube. However it's too long of a tube in my Aquarium. The sponge hits the floor, seems to be more problematic than helpful. The depth of my tank is too short, the sponge (coarse) is great. You cannot shorten the tube. Two pieces, the bottom one is quite long. The top tube is too short for fully filtering on its own.It does clog easily, the propeller, however that's on Me. My fish love Oranges. This I found to be a propeller sticker. Easy to clean out, I will use the sponge for the next Orange fun-fest. My two very messy goldfish, one is 6 inches, one is 7 inches. They have a new tank, a 29 gallon, which I am in the process of setting up, this filter should be efficient. I have 3 sponge filters in use as well.Noise. As long as your water level is up to par, no noise. A worthy purchase, my Fish and I are happy.

Started super noisy, now it runs almost silent after some modifications.
I chose this filter for a 9.1 gallon betta tank setup, opting for the 15-25 for more filter media customization. The adjustable flow and silent run was what caught my attention, but upon first plug-in it was obnoxiously noisy and the lid amplified the noise even further.I have two Seachem/Sicce Tidal filters, both twice the size and run completely silent, so the sound this little filter made was a bit jarring and I considered returning the thing. I unplugged it, then plugged it in again and I think I noticed a slight decrease in noise…? I even took the motor off to check the impeller and nothing looked out of the ordinary. You could hear the thing from the other room. I wish there were more filters with in-water-motors like the Tidal series. After a few days of use I packed in some more filter media and after plugging and unplugging the thing several times while I adjusted the position, I noticed how quiet I had become. The lid does amplify what little noise it makes, but it hardly bothers me from across the room.I don’t have any fish in this tank yet, so the flow rate has yet to be really tested. The lowest setting still seems a bit fast, but packing media in the filter body and using the pre filter sponge seems to help slow the flow. Might want consider getting a finer pre filter. I’m just worried of this thing overflowing after a few weeks of buildup, as the water comes so close to the edge.

BEST 10 GAL FILTER
I don’t know what all the whining, moaning, and crying’s about in the other reviews for this product. The clear factor I see is “user error”, or false expectations from the wrong product. This little powerful thing is recommended by a fish and aquarium YouTuber. Let me tell you, it works like a charm. As you can see in my pics, my water is crystal clear. Here’s my advice to beginners and maybe y’all who’ve been in the hobby for a bit:Start off with NOT CYCLING YOUR TANK. Fish store people lie about that garbage, or they’re just simply uneducated about that and spread the lie. I’ve had fish tanks for more than 20 years, including a huge pond (more than 60 gal) in my backyard, and I’ve NEVER once “cycled” ANY of them. It’s all a bunch of horse feathers, people. Don’t believe the hype!1) Remove or modify the lid. It is noisy.2) Make sure your substrate is at least 3 inches thick (5-8 inches is even better. I’ll be adding more in my next tank).3) Get yourself at least a couple of small houseplants and aquatic plants (see my pics).4) Remove the filter insert and throw it away if you’re going to use real plants (the carbon will rob your plants of nutrients).5) If you get algae starting to grow in your tank, make adjustments to your water quality and light exposure. You can also buy an algae eater or shrimp, as well as simply cleaning it manually. Algae does not mean a dirty tank. I have algae and my water is crystal clear.6) Don’t overfeed your fish. That’s I think the number one contributor to dirty tanks and dead fish.I think I’ve covered things while keeping it simple enough. Maybe I’ll make video review as well. One more thing! BUY THE FORZA PFE-1 FILTER. You won’t regret it. It’s an awesome product at an awesome price. I speak for this model only, as it’s the specific one I’m using. And I’ll continue using it for future 10 gallon tanks.

Lasted 5 Months
Flow rate is excellent for betta fish. Very quiet. Happy with performance. My only gripe is that the unit failed after only 5 months. I pulled the unit for cleaning (2nd time) and it was dead when plugging in. As far as I can tell there is no warranty offered on the 8 gallon size. I will purchase a replacement unit because the Tetra Whisper I purchased is far too aggressive. Disappointed in short life. Maybe this is all I should expect from a $17 product?

Product did not work when I received it
The item did not work when I received it brand new. I am not allowed to return it. This is terrible and what a huge rip off I don’t think I will be buying any other products like this.

Best Betta tank filter available!
I recently purchased my first betta fish and am currently housing him a 2 gallon fish tank. After trying the tetra whisper 3i I quickly discovered two things. The first is that internal filters take up far too much space in such a small tank, and that air pump operated filters are loud and not aesthetically pleasing. Based on these conclusions I knew that a small HOB filter was really my only option. I had originally wanted to try the Azoo Mignon 60 filter as others have had success with these units in small betta tanks, but they are not easy to attain in Canada which seriously disappointed me.I then stumbled upon the Aquatop PFE-1 which is quite possibly THE smallest HOB aquarium filter you can acquire. The pump is rated at a dismal 2 watts (The Azoo is 4 watts) making it absolutely ideal for Betta and other fish tanks up to ~4 gallons. The pump is completely silent, and the unit takes up barely any space in the tank, meaning that your fish gets as much swimming real estate as you can possibly provide. The filter media looks sufficient to get the job done. I installed a mechanical filter on the intake and moved the included mech. filter over to the pump side. This has given space to put some Biomax biological media on the right hand side.So far I am impressed and very satisfied with my purchase. I am considering adding a baffle on the filter output as the water current it is creating still appears to be pushing my betta around. Overall I feel this is the best possible filter for any tank between 2 and 4 gallons.

Works phenomenally
Despite a lot of other reviews I have read, this filter runs very quietly, especially with the cap on. I'm currently using it for my 5gal and within just an hour, or managed to clear up the extremely cloudy water! The intake is rather long in my opinion, but those with a larger tank shouldn't have an issue.I suggest using your own filter media (which this filter has a decent amount of space for), to get the best results out of this filter. The only issue I have is how loose the intake sponge is. It can very easily be nipped off by a betta, or fall off if the filter flow reaches it, but it can definitely be replaced otherwise!

Good filter
Great filter but makes some noise but it’s minimal

Dead quiet
Super low flow Betta filter. Super quiet especially if you run it without lid, managed to squeeze my own sponge and a bit of media in it.

Quiet filter for smaller tanks
Wonderfully quiet, but the flow rate does not seem to be as high as 80GPH. It is unfortunate if like me, you have live plants and don't desire the use of activated carbon. The carbon is not easily separated from the filter sponge, so I just cut my own. Otherwise an excellent filter for a tank of 15 gallons. I'm not sure that it quite has the flow rate for 25 gallons, like this page says.
