Annie: The Junior Novel (Movie Tie-In)

Daughter loved the movie and loves the little tie in book. She had it in her back pack and her protein drink spilled on it and it got ruined. She was so devastated. When I got the DVD I secretly bought another and swapped it out! she was ecstatic! If your child loved the movie, they will love this little story book to go with it.

if you live the movie, you'll like the book. I would recommend reading the book first. Watching the movie first makes the book disappointing

This book does a good job in translating the movie screenplay to a novelization. Unfortunately, the re-written plot of the 2014 movie adaptation isn't quite as good as either the original 1977 Broadway play or the 1982 movie. There are some real plot holes, like the motivations behind the whole fake-parents scenes are not supported, and the inclusion of new characters like the social workers and the campaign manager aren't as good as the original story. Nevertheless, if you are an Annie fan who enjoyed the 2014 movie, I would recommend this book be part of your collection. There are 8 pages of color photos in the book, which is aimed at older children compared to the other book "A True Family" which is more for younger readers.

My 6 year old is good reader and this was a nice reading challenge for her.
