## Customer Reviews

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A worthy choice!
*by C***N on January 12, 2020*

I do nature photography as a hobby, but my profession also requires me to do a lot of client photography and videography. I had a good photography tripod that I've used for years, but it met with an unfortunate end when someone ran over it with a piece of machinery accidentally. The tripods I use for doing videos are all relatively cheap "Amazon Basics" tripods that work perfectly well for keeping the light action cams I use for making videos stable, but when I tried putting an expensive DSLR and lens on to do client photos they simply couldn't hold up -- I not only couldn't get stable photos, I was worried the whole thing was going to go tipping over even when weighted down with a sandbag. So I went searching the web for tripod recommendations. Good luck with that, most of what I found were recommendations for tripods well outside my price range, given that client photography is a small part of business. Maybe someday spending $500 on a tripod will seem reasonable for my business, but definitely not today.I'm not even entirely sure how I ended up settling on this tripod, I probably ran into a recommendation for it somewhere, but I'm glad I did. I've done two shoots with it now and it has been a big improvement over even my old 'good-but-now-mangled' tripod, let alone the cheap ones I use for videos.Pros:1) Quick and easy to set up. Granted, most tripods are, but still...2) Very stable. Holds my DSLR and lens with nary a hint of movement even after hours of use. Even at low F-stop in medium light it keeps things rock stable, I was able to push my lens a bit more than I usually would to get nice shots without worrying about camera shake. Granted, that's kind of a tripod's job, but in my experience a lot of tripods in this price range aren't nearly as stable as I need.3) Versatile. This tripod is a lot more adjustable than my last one. I don't really need that for my application, but it's nice to know it's there if I ever do.4) Removable head. I can replace it with another if I need to someday.5) Nice leveling bubble placement. My prior DSLR tripod had level bubbles that were pretty useless.6) Folds down small. Not a huge deal, but I have to haul around a lot of gear -- backdrop/frame, lighting, ect. -- so size matters.Cons:1) Heavier than I'm used to. It's not like it's heavy per se, not really, it's just that as it's not made of paper thin metal and cheap plastic the way my video tripods are, it always feels heavier to me than I expected. Not really that much of a con, it's super light compared to, say, a couple of lights, but still...2) The case is tight. Again, not really a con, but the case, while surprisingly well made, is a tighter fit than I'm used to.All in all, I'm glad I settled on this tripod. When I go to replace my video tripods, something I'm contemplating doing soon, I'll be getting more of these.Recommended.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great tripod with ALL the features at a very responsible price...
*by D***I on March 15, 2019*

I searched Amazon and Google for a very long time, talking years, to find a tripod that fits my every need that I feel it should be/do... And I finally found it with the MACTREM tripod! It has all the features I wanted, which was many and even looks good, yet it isn't as heavy or expensive as it looks! They also included a nice carry bag, phone holder, wrench, and manual- plus a gift card for a free SanDisk 32gb memory card for sharing your experience. AND it converts to a Monopod... So Kool!Being a paranormal investigator you need at least 4-6 hands just to hold your equipment... so this particular tripod/monopod really comes in handy. Most tripods only hold up to 11 lbs but this one holds up to much more which is perfect for my camera rig.I will share pictures of my personal tripod set up once I receive a part that I ordered....

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ It's a really nice tripod for the money.
*by J***N on March 15, 2019*

So far so good, this really is looking to be quite the great purchase overall. Time will tell on durability, but it's getting used quite a bit so we'll work out and find any issues if there are any outside of the one outlined below. It's a nice and light tripod while still seeming to be very sturdy, it's versatile, easy to use and does a great job with our spotting scope and our telescopes. It fits everything it says it will and we're very happy overall. The only issue we've found so far is if we don't loosen the pan knob all the way it has a firm catch in it when panning side to side and is crunchy when you continue turning it. This lends itself to less control when trying to keep it in one place, once in place if I try to tighten the knob to keep things in place it actually turns the head off target, it only does it when I'm trying to tighten it in the crunchy spots. It's a minor problem, but is a bit disappointing and the only issue I've seen so far. It's a great tripod for the money, if you get one with a better ball head that doesn't have these issues it's an amazing tripod for the money and you'd have to jump up into the hundreds of dollars to get better.
