With a little work they're decent. Will not fit many mills without modification.
This collet is not threaded more than 1" through the end, so if you do not have a short drawbar, or haven't switched to allthread as an adjustable alternative, you're going to damage your drawbar while tightening the chuck. Luckily, drawbars are cheap and easy to replace, but as you attempt to tighten the chuck the threads will bottom-out before the mill is actually tight and locked in. Attempt to tighten things until the mill is seated, and you'll be pulling your drawbar threads through the un-threaded part of the collet, smashing them flat. This does not occur with higher-quality collets, as they have 2" of thread at the top. This brings me to the second issue...The threads are not cleaned up at the factory. The first few turns were burred to hell, and wouldn't start threading onto anything. Once I ran a tap through, the burrs chipped off and everything was nice and smooth. If you don't have a 7/16-20 tap ready, don't expect this collet to work for you. Which combined with the first issue leads to...For once, the advertised claim of having been hardened is actually spot-on. These puppies were hardened at the factory, and rock-solid. This means you can't tap the threads further to fix the short-threading issue, but it should be plenty durable for years of use. Also, the keyway wasn't deburred, requiring some tricky stoning to clean up before the collet would even slide up into the chuck.I'd really love to have been able to give this collet a much higher rating, but the threads being cut shorter than normal, and then not having been properly de-burred will cause many people loads of trouble. I've got a modified drawbar 7/16-20 tap and die set, and a slim sharpening stone so I was able to correct for the manufacturing issues, but that's something a customer shouldn't have to do. Nice collet otherwise - good runout, nicely lasered sizing on the face, plenty hard, and even has the face ground slightly flat so that it gives back that last millimeter of clearance.

... they were well made and would have been an awesome add-on.
While they were well made and would have been an awesome add-on... They did not fit my mini mill as advertised. The keyway was too small for my Harbor Freight mini mill...Which was too bad I did like the craftsmanship other than that issues

Internal threads do not start until .25" in, drawbar cannot engage on some mills
As you can see, comparing this collet holder to my others (only one shown for example) the internal threads engage much deeper than the US made collets. A depth of .25" on this collet and .125" on the US made collet. This prevents the drawbar from completely engaging with the collet. The overall fit and finish look acceptable but I was unable to test this for runout, cutter holding, etc. as it could not be drawn into the quill.

Not a big fan. I wish I'd have ordered a different set.
My set ( not sure if it's every set or just the run ) are a hair larger than they should be. Guessing it came down to the finishing on the collets. That means that they don't drop out properly or hold properly if you try to tighten one down. They appeared to be well made and hardened, but the incorrect sizing issue means that I couldn't properly lock down an end mill on numerous occasions. For example, I will commonly use the half inch end mill from JYC International. They are cheap and available via Prime. On this collet, it will load completely, but there is enough of a size difference that when a collet is torqued beyond what is needed, the end mill can still fall out or slide up. The same size end mill works well in my two other sets of collets.Machine: ShopMaster Mill Turn CNC ( 2015 production )

R8 Collet with shallow / under sized bore
This R8 collet will NOT hold a double ended mill as the bore depth is shallow. It WILL barely fit a .750 shank tool (as the bore is 0.003” undersized. Cheap price got me a cheap tool. I’m not a pro, so I’ll keep it. Otherwise, not as advertised.

Not up to par...after 2 attempts.
So the first one I received (picture attached) when inserted you could not even start threads on drawbar due to threaded hole being crooked to shaft of collet. Returned this item and was quickly shipped another, drawbar threads in--threads not great, had to chase them with a tap, but the run-out was really less than acceptable. Just going to keep it and use it..well, for something.

Check the runout; they will quickly replace if they send a bad collet
Same story here (3/4") as for previous purchase (3/8"). First collet I received had large runout ~3.5 thou measured on the Bridgeport with DTI. I returned it and was issued a replacement with <0.2 thou runout which is fine. Speedy service. Pay the premium on McMaster if you can't afford the extra couple of days they take to send a replacement.

Nice Collets
These are nicely made R8 collets. I've only used a couple of sizes, but they appear to be nicely machined and sized correctly. Each comes in an individual poly plastic box. I use these with my Harbor Freight "X2" size mini-mill without any problem.

same imports like all other
Took me some time to power wire brush every single one luckfully I have various power tube brushes but for someone who dont it would be an extra cost, decend amount of chips came out I did this because I noticed that each slit had a curled up burr at the end and the threads were also sharp with burrs. Not complaining given the price but how much really would it cost to have them deburred and if description said burr free with smooth precision threads I would be first to spend little extra and this is one thing I dont understand about imports.
