One device that allows you to pour oil smoothly, without air pockets "burping" and making a mess. A mess that runs down the engine bay int unreachable places. The fix? ShineSpout. This will attach to most quart, gallon and 5 quart plastic oil containers.Shinespout offers a free 2nd spout -so you can keep one attached to you oil "top-up" container, and have one for everything else. You simply need to provide a review. I saw no requirement for it to be a "good" review or a certain number of starsThe "intelligent" part of the design is the air vent - an expandable rubber air valve that allows constant steady influx of air as you pour. this is how it prevents "gulping" - and the key difference it the design over others. Finally: if in doubt, I would suggest purchasing one and seeing for yourself. It is perhaps a dollar or two more than the most basic types that have no venting, and worth every cent. I used this to put 5 qts of oil into my Subaru Legacy. It works as advertised. However, I do have some suggestions. First, only use this on quart sized bottles. Sure, it can be used on 5 quart jugs of oil but in a lot of cars you'll need to stand there and hold it up while it's pouring into the engine. When I used it on the quart oil bottles, I just put the tip into the opening and leaned the bottle against the battery. It was a no hassle experience. It only took about 70 seconds to empty a quart bottle into the crankcase. Second, be careful when screwing this on. It's easy to overtighten. Both the oil jug and the shinespout are made of very thin plastic. Be careful not to do this otherwise you'll think it's on properly and it won't be. Third, since both jug and shinespout are made of thin plastic, some oil does seep past the threading on the shinespout. I had to wipe out the threads a couple times to keep oil from seeping down the bottle. Overall, this was far easier to use than a funnel. Once you figure out the best method to pour out the oil (ie turn the bottle over quickly into the crankcase opening without the cap on the tip or tipping it over with the cap on the tip then removing the cap to pour the oil) it'll go quickly. I very much recommend this to anyone doing oil changes. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.0 out of 5 stars Useful for refilling oil lamps *by D***R on Reviewed in the United States on September 27, 2020* It was a bit of a challenge getting it on the paraffin lamp oil gallon container, but it worked. I refilled the lamp without spilling a drop. I will be using this nearly every day to refill one or more oil lamps.
