Seems like there are no instructions provided in the box for winterizing.** A: This valve is part of an irrigation system. In the winter you must blow all the water from the lines. There should be a threaded port where you can attach an air hose coupling. It takes a lot of volume of air. Turn water off at source, attach air hose from fully "charged" compressor, then use manual method to open each zone. Use this valve to regulate air to zone... once water is gone and all you hear is air from zone, go to next zone and repeat. Once system is completely void of water, I set my handles at 45 degrees for winter. When spring comes, unscrew top and inspect o rings, springs etc...(Debris, bugs etc...) Close both valves and open water source. Open valves and charge system with water and run all zones. You will get some vacuum break while charging, pressure will soon equalize and valve break will snap into ready position. **Q: is the toro 53300 PVB preventer lead free** A: I think being it's all plastic, it's lead free But not sure if NSF rated for potable water I used on irrigation and pool water lines **Q: Is the a video on how to replace this?** A: never looked. Easy to assemble and seal, and there doesn't seem to be much alternative at this price.Update 12/31/12 After five years use still going strong, a dab of plumbers grease helps lubricate the sealing rings, meanwhile 3 neighbours have had their brass PVBs fail, split and leak due to incorrect or incomplete bleeding during winterizing.
