My son calls these his clicky shoes. They have a fairly hard sole that makes a tapping noise when he walks. He wears them with everything. Jeans, cords, slacks, he even wore them with his suit, but honestly, that was a bit of a stretch. It worked because he is four. These shoes are a very nice way to dress up a casual outfit, and comfortable enough that an active four year old does not hesitate to climb a tree while wearing them.
