Has anyone been able to figure out how to clean under the clean silicone band that separates the lid from the bottom? Ours keep growing black mold.

Does this spill out if you put it in your purse and it lays on it's side?

Not unless something happened to be pressing down on the rim. The water is released by the child's mouth pushing on the rim, so it's unlikely that it would spill in a purse.

We've been using these for some time, and now with her being 3 i'm wondering what style we are suppose to graduate to next?

By age 3, I would think she could drink from a normal glass. We already hold a regular glass for my 15 month old grandson to drink from. He loves drinking like the grownups. I’m certain my own children were drinking from regular glasses by age 3.
