OBAGE MT-600 Woody 35 Watt 2.1 Channel Wireless Bluetooth Tower Speaker (Brown)

I landed on this after struggling to get quality sound (flat frequency response) from n different speakers. I tried out Bose, Sony and many others- all to no avail. The modern trend of separating the sub-woofers from the wide frequency speakers has created an audiophile's nightmare. Mid-lows (125-250 Hz) and mids (500-900Hz) were severely compromised in all the speakers I had tried out. It was hard enough using a 3.5mm jack and it was next to impossible to listen to all the tunes in a Mark Knopfler track when played on BT. I got this Obage because of 2 reasons- rave reviews and it was cheap enough not to be a risk. Now my experience: 1. UNBOXING (5/5): Well packed and tightly placed. No damage at all. Package contained a remote (AAA, but no cells) and cables for FM antenna, aux and 3.5mm. So apart from batteries, everything included. Great experience. 2. FEATURES (5/5): This is basically a 2.1 system in a box. It has an LED panel at the front, bass/treble/power controls on the side. However, bass/treble knobs do not have a place indicator, which makes it hard to visually see where the controls are between min and max. Woofer is open to the front and covered in light fabric on the side. Full stars for the innovative and compact design. 3. BREAKING IN (N.A.): When I first tried it out, my response was 'dabba- this too is a waste.'. Then I remembered some reviews which recommended breaking it in by playing it for 8-10 hours. Thank goodness for them. I let the speaker play away at a lower volume for a day or so (10-16 hrs). Read on. 4. SOUND QUALITY (10/5): When looking at sound quality at speakers, do realize that digital players all have their own settings for frequency gains. Meaning, if you play the same song from the same device to the same speaker, using default equaliser, the sound will vary. Therefore, speakers work well only if you know how to use an equaliser. I first tried it out (after breaking in) using default settings on AIMP2 (my favourite). The sound was flat as advertised. By tweaking the bass and treble, the sound was still somewhat flat but MUCH BETTER in terms of frequency response compared to the Sony SA-D100. Then I tuned the AIMP2 equaliser (3 mins compared to 20+ min on the Sony, that too unsuccessfully). What a rush! Perfect distinction between lows, mids and highs. Perfect audibility of all frequencies. Excellent vocal depth and clear highs (no rasps). This is the only speaker that can perfectly render sounds of an acoustic guitar without resonance. The sound earns this speaker 10 stars out of 5. It beats speakers that cost over 12k. There is no comparison. Do remember that the Obage's strength is clarity. You can hear it fairly loud. But it doesn't do justice to expect it to be loud enough for a large room or a hall. THIS IS A COMPACT 2.1, NOT A TOWER. 5. CONNECTIVITY (4/5) Somehow, 3.5 mm jack connection sounded very low. BT works great. Have not tried the others (FM). CONCLUSION: This speaker (and the brand) is a hidden gem. It has been ages since I have enjoyed listening to music. Speakers had become a means to fill the room with tolerable noise. The Obage has made me enjoy music again; it makes me stop what I am doing and listen to my favourite notes. Any music lover will tell you of the positive effect of quality listening to music (yes, quality listening to music). As someone who listens to a small list of greats, I can only say 'thank you' to this speaker. Go ahead and buy it. You will not regret it. PS- For Windows users, use AIMP2. It has a native equaliser which is great. Set the Obage's Bass and Treble to mid (I think- I adjusted it to music). In the AIMP2 equaliser, increase 2-4th band, depress the mids by a bit, and increase the highs (from 700Hz) to 75% gain. Tune slightly to your taste.

First of all, my first experience/feel of listening to my favourite songs on this speaker: There is a peculiar thing about the sound quality produced by the speakers in buses (referring to south tamilnadu village buses), which is, there will be enough tweet to bring us the high pitched sounds as well as enough bass to give us those 'gentle thump' from the instruments. I believe it is a peculiar combination of sound amplification/reproduction which is not easily replicatable in any of the 2.1, 5.1 and/or 7.1 sound systems (my opinion is that the sub-woofers in these type of speakers doesn't give the 'just the right' amount of bass to the songs, it impacts the listening experience). Even speakers from foreign manufacturers have failed in this area (i have been using Bose soundlink for a long time now). This speaker has (for the first time in my life) given me the same experience as when listening to songs during the bus journeys. Thanks for this product and I am very happy that it is a product from India. Now pros/cons: Pros: 1. as many reviewers have already said/confirmed - Very sturdy build. just as a speaker should supposed to be. 2. very simple design and options. very easy to connect the speaker using Bluetooth. 3. They have given two types of cables to connect to systems having different output ports. (1 with Red/white+ 3.5mm jack and other with red/white at both the ends. 4. One of the salesmen have taught me how to buy headphones/speakers, i.e., to if the frequency range of the speakers is very wide, i.e., few Hz to few KHz, then that headphone/speaker would give us good quality sound. I think this speaker meets that criteria and the sound quality is really good. 5. I love listening to music in the quiet so as to get the feel of each instruments in the song. So i consider the mild volume of this speaker as a Pro (although other loud-music-likers consider this as con) . i say mild volume, for a large sized room. but this speaker provides more-than-enough sound for a 150sq ft room. cons: Nothing major, however, the range of bluetooth is a bit short distance (if I leave the bluetooth device by about 2-3 metres, the connectivity is lost. But I am okay with that.) overall, i am satisfied with the product. However, it has to be admitted that the expectation and opinion differs, So my rating reflects my satisfaction with the product based on above mentioned points.

After a lot of research for months I found this on Amazon with awesome reviews.. I was worried initially as never heard of this brand but then thot of taking a chance since its an Indian brand... Got my delivery in the morning on the promised date by amazon... kept it for sanitization till late evening and then I couldn't resist... opened the box and found this masterpiece inside... the packaging was superb with additional accessories like cables included... Unboxed it and installed it immediately which was not so difficult... Had very high expectations after reading the reviews and then I plugged it in and started my R&D... after a little bit of checking and setting the equaliser I found the perfect sound combination as per my requirement... it's been only 2 days now and am already started loving it... Pros - Superb Packaging - Timely delivery - Av cable and Aux cable included - Quite Heavy and sturdy - Sound clarity is next level.. I have used samsung, sony, I ball, Philip's, Altec Lansing and many more but this gives u perfect and balanced sound making ur movie watching and awesome experience... u will have theatre like effects and can hear every unheard small bit of the background - Bass is not too high nor too low but has got the perfect depth making it soothing for your hears and allows you to listen to songs for hours with ease and comfort... - Superb Value for money at this price point... intact I feel its undervalued - Connectivity - the bluetooth connectivity is easy, super fast and hassle free. - Indian Make - Proud to see such product being build by an Indian brand and we should support it strongly.. CONs - Looks - looks good but the color is Silver which might get dirty after sometime. It would have been better if it was in natural wood finish which wud have made it more attractive Remote - The remote is basic and ok but not that sturdy... while watching netflix i was trying to use the volume key and setting on the remote but my tv was getting operated with that... the movie on netflix was getting fast forwarded... Overall - Yes there are few scope for improvement here and there which one cannot really expect at this pricepoint... I will give it a 5 star to this product for its Indianess, simplicity and superb sound quality...👍

I am writing this after using 1 month. I am a bass lover. After arriving it my home I found the sound is average and not so well as I expected but after completing its burning period (7 to 8hours) I felt love with it. Now I like this sound system very much. You have to run it atleast 7 hours constantly for first day. My room size 10 x 11 = 110 sqfeet , it has some wooden furnitures (Because it matters to improve sound). After all worth it. Also they will provide 3months extra warrenty If you provide your model, order and purchase date to their Whatsapp No. if you are a bass lover then definitely follow these steps. 👍 How to get good sounds ? ◆ Keep the sound system on the floor. You can put a wooden piece or a piece of ply wood under it. (Keeping on floor means you will get more thumping and deep bass) ◆ Play with Jio Swan/Gaana/ Hangama etc app which have high resolution streaming option. Or you can download and play 320 kbps mp3 songs from your phone or computer directly using a good media player. (Because high resolution songs produce more accurate instrumental sounds and deep bass) ◆ Don't select EQ option from its integrated EQ system using its remot otherwise it will decrease your sound volume. But you can use EQ from your computer or Phone as per your satisfaction. ◆ Don't use any kinds tharmocol or Foam (which you will get its packaging) keeping the system on it. Also don't keep that kinds of things aside it otherwise your bass will decrease. (Because foam and tharmocol sucks bass) ◆ Set up of Voulum panel of the sound system ●● For the bass lovers >> 85% to 90% master volume, >> 85% to 95% Bass (As per ur choice) >> 30 % to 40 % Trable (As per ur choice) ●● For the Melody lovers >> 85% to 90% master volume >> 50% to 70% Bass (As per ur choice) >> 70 % to 95 % Trable (As per ur choice) ◆ Keep your woofer speaker facing at the wall side of your room. And distance should be 5 inch away from the room wall. But it's good because it prevents vibration of sound system during deep bass. ◆ Corns ◆ >> if you play using AUX you will get a gain sound untill you play a song. >> EQ option not works in AUX mode. >> Remot's signal and range is poor. >> Bluetooth covers 20 feet. (which is prity low range) >> Very old look and display pannel too back dated. Overall sound quality is very good if you consider all corns of it,, it worth for you. First of all it should be cleared that this is indeed a stereo system with 2.1 arrangement in a single unit. Robustly built. Weighty. Display is very bright and strains eyes. I received it yesterday evening. I shall say about it's sound quality after a week of use. After 9 days of use.... Prose: 1. Excellent deep bass with a large sub woofer. 2. Mid is clear and overwhelming. Idear for wathing tv/movie. 3. Treble is good. 4. Excellent built quality. Robust and weighty. 5. Bass & treble control. Cons: 1. Treble is not upto the mark. Should be more smooth and fluent. Definitely missing dedicated tweeters. 2. Lacking mid control. 3. Display is unnecessarily bright. It's annoying when watching movies. 4. Remote is not upto the mark. Final words..... All the cons should be ignored considering the price. Also the equalisation can done on input source like phone or tv etc. and will definitely acheive a fabulous output. ***After 1 year of very rare use it has started to produce ear piercing noise like a mix of hum and hiss. The noise is enough loud to destroy the music listening experience. Internal circuit is very very cheap and worthless. Not recommended to buy. Don't know how they gather this much high rating. I degraded my rating from 5 to 1 star.

After doing a thorough research for a good one whole week and going through various reviews on Amazon and YouTube videos. I decided to go ahead and purchase this Mini Tower. Being an avid music listener, I listen to everything from Trance, Jazz, Rock, Pop, Ghazals,Bhajans, Instrumental, Hindi, English, Tamil,Telgu,Marathi, Bengali and whatever is musical. I also have possesed some of the finest music players in the market to satisfy my ears. I read some positive reviews on Amazon and I got excited about buying Obage, but after coming across a couple of negative reviews, I felt disheartened. I wanted to buy something quickly and was getting sleepless over buying a mini tower, a 2.1 speaker set and a sound bar with a sub. But in the end, I decided to go ahead with Obage and boy I am smiling ear to ear. After listening and using my system for almost a week, I am writing this review. What I loved: 1. It is made in India. Other comparative products are made in China. 2. I actually was looking for something with flat signature, so I could enjoy the music as it was intended to be heard. No other systems gave me that and even reputed brands that I heard didn't possess flat signature. 3. I listen to music for a long stretch and this system doesn't give you the fatigue. 4. The system sounds as amazing at Volume level 10 as it sounds at Max Volume level. 5. Connectivity options. Bluetooth, Line in, USB, TF card. 6. The sound output is spot on. Trebles are clear without irritating your ears, even at High volumes. Mids are loud and clear. Bass is right where you want it. Neither muffled not reverbrating uncharacteristically. ( Hope you get what I mean). What could have been better: 1. The Remote control: I think practically all reviews have mentioned this. Yes, It could have been better and sturdier but who's complaining? 2. The display could have been a bit bigger. 3. Would have loved a more functional display to play music through USB sticks and easy navigation for the same. I am not a person who is easily pleased and to write a review for a product like this is a rare thing. But I think I owe it to the Obage team for coming up with a wonderful product for music lovers like me. And makes me even more proud for this to be made in India. Jai Hind.

It is a good product if you want to used to listen songs with more bass then u nay need equilizer to adjust. Above all it gives good clear sound like the actually crystal clear sound. Go for it if you want clarity in songs you wont regret. It has one demerit that is after switching off again when you switch on its volume sets to defsult -16 . If you need more sound that you might need to increase the volume by remote or from the buttons by long pressing the previous and next button given in the speaker. I tearms of loudness i use it in a single room and it is more that enough. I have tested for aux cable and bluetooth. And oufn both of these works pretty fine. Onething i noticed if you arr streaming something say for ex from you tube then the sound produced by it is bit less ,i.e., you need to increase the volume. However , it works fine with mx player, gaana app, amazon prime music etc.i have not tried fm and usb. I have also seen movies with lots of Hollywood effects and this speaker does its job. You wont regret But tryst me it is good and a value for money. If you get it arnd 3200 . Wait for the offers.

I faced many problems with this..First it does not have any mark on volume,bass,treble button. due to which we don't know how much volume or bass or treble it is open. Second prob is you will definitely get a good bass but only when you listen to high volume ,on low volume it doesn't show much bass effect even though song has bass in it. Third problem is I found speakers are not producing that much sound I can feel the bass when the bass part comes and treble when the trble part comes I missed the coordination between them. I have iball 2.1 which i purchased around 10 years ago If i compare i found iball slightly better. P.s I used this speaker in 12*10 closed room for around 8 hours. This is my personal opinion,you may have different opinion.
