Perfect for Skylander nfc cards

If you want to spend $30 and miss your childhood, get this. The Skylanders scanned on to the cards perfectly. Easy to setup. Plenty of tutorials online to set it up.

The product currently works well for reading and writing nfc cards with Mifare.

i used this for making skylanders. and it worked. i bought a 100 pack nfc card set as well. and i was able to make 90+ skylanders. this machine kind of disconnects back and forth. so i had to take it out and plug it back in so the pc can recognize it. but all in all, good enough. it was cool that it shipped with 5 small coin size ntag213. which is the format that lego dimension uses, so i was able to make some of that too.

This worked well in Windows 10. Used NFC TOOLS and the tags it came with. In KDE NEON LINUX, also worked after running some install scripts. No issues. Good value.

My initial 4-Star review is below. This device has gone end-of-life. The drivers have not been updated since 2018. It no longer works with Win11. It probably should not be offered for sale. I needed a Yubi NFC compatible reader for our old PC. The specs on this NFC reader suggested it would work and, indeed, it does. There is no need to install any software. Windows 11 took care of the driver installation; the drivers included with the downloaded software cannot be used with Win11. Bottom line: This works for me! The documentation for this product is out-of-date.

works great for backing up skylanders, really like that it came with cards and keyfobs

I bought this to read and write Mifare cards, and it works very well for that purpose. tracking down software that works with the reader was a little tricky; eventually I found Mifare for Windows Tools (MWT) and that allowed me to do what I needed to do. There are many counterfeit readers on the market, but I don't think this was one of them. The build quality is good and there's a serial number label on the back that looks legitimate. It's important to note that this reader is not a "keyboard wedge" type, meaning it won't type its output into just any Window on your computer. You will need specific software to read and write data from cards. If you're looking to explore NFC tags like hotel keys or college ID basges, then this might be a very good choice for you. It won't work with 125Khz frequency cards though, only 13.56mhz.
