Soap bottle has a very small opening to fill it, which is exactly what I didn't want cause soap easily misses and runs down the outside of the bottle. The white "lid" is just for show. It's all one piece, so I guess the 'decor' description is correct in that it's not a real mason jar. It just looks like one, lacks any decent opening, and has no lid replacement option since there's no lid. There's just a smaller opening in the top center where the pump attaches. The pump is plastic that looks like silver, and it began pumping weakly after about a month.......but past my return window unfortunately. Sponge holder is fine just for sponge. When I put a tall bottle brush in too and then remove the sponge, the brush frequently falls in the way of replacing the sponge in its spot cause there's no divider. So basically I paid a high price for a sponge holder cause that's all I use from this set now. This company should sell just the sponge holder on its own and consider adding a small divider to keep bottle brushes from falling into the sponge slot. Two issues with the soap dispenser. The soap oozes out of the top sometimes and I have to clean it off a lot. I’ve had it 3 months and the silver has come off the part where the soap comes out. So Its not looking as good as it did when I first purchased. Wish it held up better. Will probably replace it soon with something else. The sponge holder is cute and functional. The sponge holder was badly broken, however, and I did not remove the items from their packing for fear of being cut by the pottery shards. I purchased several different sets of these pieces for a housewarming gift - canisters, cookie jar, salt and pepper set, measuring cups and spoons, etc. They were all shipped in the same box with no damage to the outside and only the sponge holder was broken. I am currently waiting for a replacement.
