We got them for the take and toss cups, because we were reusing the cups. The straws for those cups got chewed up and tossed. These silicone straws on the other hand, can handle toddler chewing and great for tossing into the dishwasher. I love how durable and convenient it is to wash them. The only downside is pushing the straw into the hole. The fit is so tight that it takes some practice to do it. However, the tight fit also allows for a tight seal.
