Absolutely amazing for scratching posts!
Way better than using 1/4" sisal! And none of that greasy stink some sisal has that makes me worry about what my cats might be cleaning off their claws...

Sisal rope 3/8"
The rope worked very well. I'm using it to recover the posts on some large cat trees I have. Makes them look brand new because either the original rope or carpet had been loosened or scratched apart by my cats. This should last forever!

Mild odor offgassed quickly - perfect for my gigantic scratching post
Advice: WEAR A MASK - this stuff is dry, and spits out a lot of dusty fiber particles. I was wheezing after the first day and then I caught sight of a sunbeam and realized how much was being thrown around as I handled the rope. Wearing a standard mask for sawdust is fine and made all the difference.I suspect I will have to vacuum it after they scratch it a bit to pick up more strands periodically.MILD ODOR of rubber (not fuel or oil) was present upon first opening the box - I had the window open and the smell dissipated after a few days. My guess it the box sat in a warehouse with some pervasive odor and absorbed some in the natural fibers, but it really did evaporate and I do not smell anything now.I wrapped our entire cat tree in the stuff. The old cheap carpet was coming apart, and the stupid idiots were eating carpet glue and so it had to go. I skinned the carpet off of the frame, and wrapped the sisal rope around, and I used nails to hold it down. I hid the nails with a nail set, and the sisal can be pushed around to cover up the nail holes. It came out aesthetically pleasing -- now I just have to see what the cats think.I'd buy it again. (caveat: I bought it on sale as a used item for a 1/3 discount)

Great for cat scrath posts
This is very heavy duty! I used hot glue to wrap it around a sturdy tube for a cat scratch post and it seems like it will will last a long time. I read other reviews before buying this and am glad I did, no smell, nice and clean, easy to pull from the center. This will last to make many more posts for years to come. The box is heavy when delivered and does take up some storage space. I almost think I would have gotten 1/4" but the 3/8" this works great.

Climb to the top
It's not what I think. It's what my cats think. And in a word it's MEOW! I hot glue the sisal rope to a pair of 2x4's and the cats climb them to higher perches. It's up and down, up and down all day long. They love it. Which means I love it.

Big roll of good rope.
Good quality 3/8" sisal rope. Way better than buying it 25' at a time at the hardware store. I use this stuff to re-wrap my cats' scratching posts. Now I don't have to splice the ends together in the middle of the post. Probably a lifetime supply for what I use it for.

Sisal rope
Arrived on schedule. Price OK. Some other reviews have mentioned rope smell, nothing unexpected to me, it is a rope.
