Cuddly Crochet: Adorable Toys, Hats, and More

My husband bought this book of patterns as my Christmas gift the year our first Grandchild was born. I had not crocheted for many years. The patterns were well explained and I not only made a hat for our Grandson, but continued to make hats for babies who were born to my adult children's friends.I loaned this book to a friend and did not get it back, so I bought another one for myself. I also bought Stacey's Crocheted Softies, a crochet pattern book of animals.

Made the mouse. I liked that the back stitches makes a toy that will hold its stuffing. Great-grandson "adores" it, his mother reports. It was fun to make. Wish there was more variety. Other books have "cute and cuddly animals from around the world" but patterns are not nearly as clear or practical. Hope this author will be encouraged to create other patterns.

With all of the reviews, I expected more from this book. There are a few cute projects in it but not enough for me to keep it. I have some experience with making dolls and animals and these were just not quite what I was hoping for. I recommend using the look inside feature and making sure these are the style of projects you are interested in. I did like the bibs and the bird blanket is very cute, but on the whole I don't see myself using it much to make anything else. The projects do look easy and if it is your first venture into amigurumi it may be exactly what you are looking for.

This is a truly awesome book of patterns for anyone who likes to do baby crochet and amigurumi! The patterns are easy, and none of them take more than a couple of nights to do. So adorable! Stacey Trock is a great crafter. The book has a wonderful variety of things to crochet - hats, bibs, stuffed animals, even a toy truck (which I've already made, and my son just loves!). I completely recommend this book.

if you want to wow people with your crochet talents then this is a good book. All the hats are easy to make. The stuff animals are cute and quick to make. I found nice eyes for my animals at ebay. I made the bird hood blanket, and I got so many compliments. Overall this is a must have book for crocheters.

I bought this for my mother for Christmas. She was looking for a book that taught her how to make those animal hats.. This has one or two of those hats but my mother loved this book she has made numerous items from it ;)

Ich habe das Buch von „Stacey Trock“ gerade erst gekauft – und bin begeistert. Allerdings gefällt mir nicht jedes Projekt von ihr – vielleicht muss ich mich noch daran gewöhnen und finde am ENDE doch alles toll ;-)Ich habe allmählich schon diverse amerikanische Häkelanleitungen nachgehäkelt – auch diese sind sehr einfach beschrieben – die wesentlichen amerikanischen Häkelbegriffe reichen aus, um die Anleitung ins Deutsche übersetzen zu können.Die Spezialität an diesem Buch ist, dass zehn „Amigurumi“ (eigentlich eher Cuddly Animals, d.h. „Kuscheltiere“) mit jeweils einem praktischen Projekt verknüpft sind. Also pro Tier eine Decke/Hut oder Lätzchen, das thematisch zu dem Kuscheltier passt.Einige dieser Projekte kann man auf der Seite von Amazon angucken, andere nicht. Das ist ein schöner Überraschungs-Effekt, wenn man das Buch über Amazon bestellt ;-)In diesem Buch gibt es einen kleinen blauen Vogel mit supersüßer Vogeldecke, einen der vielen Häkel-Pinguine, die Stacey Trock bisher erschaffen hat plus Pinguin-Kindermütze, einen Bär mit etwas kompliziert zu häkelnder Bären-Decke, ein weißes Häschen mit Häschen-Hut, ein supersüßes Schwein (das ich heiß und innig liebe) mit Schweinedecke, eine Katze mit Katzenmütze (wie auf dem Titelbild), einen lieben Koala-Bären mit dazugehöriger Decke, eine Maus mit süßem Mäuschen-Lätzchen, ein Schaf mit entsprechender Decke und als letztes einen Pickup Truck mit Truck-Lätzchen (also auch was für Jungen dabei ;-) ).Wie alles, was Stacey so an Häkelanleitungen anbietet, haben ihre Kuscheltiere den unverkennbaren „Stacey-Style“. Man erkennt sofort an der Machart, dass sie die Schöpferin dieser Tiere ist. Wer ihren Style knuffig findet und ihn mag, dem lege ich dieses Buch ans Herz. Man kann damit bestimmt (kleinen) Menschen eine Freude bereiten – und zumindest sich selbst beim Häkeln.Viel Erfolg weiterhin, Stacey! Bleib so, wie du bist!!!
