Oil Filler Extension, with Breather Vent, Polished Fits VW, Compatible with Dune Buggy

I like these filler tubes much more than the stock ones. The only thing I had to do was make another gasket to stack on the filler to ensure the vent was at the top rather than the bottom. This was so that oil doesn't run down the hose when adding it, and also for a clean and efficient running of the breather hose. Nice finish, threads, and well-made cap.

Love it. Trickiest part was taking off the original with the internal nut, lightly hammered a 1” internal pipe wrench in and broke it free no problem.

The unit is a great unit , you just have to be careful with the style of breather hose you choose. The breather lines up directly in line with the alternator power stud no matter how you try and screw on. Maybe get more spacers o change the positions. I put 2 an 3 on and all ended in line with power stud. A braided one will be close to the alternator power stud and will arc. Put a rubber cap on the alternator stud to avoid a fire

Looks good and works good.

Works great, solved my oil leak. Comes with a thick fiber/paper gasket for the base (instead of pictured o-ring) and a cork gasket for plastic cap. Do as another suggested and trim the outer diameter of the fiber gasket to size so it looks better. I put thread sealant on the side port threads and when installed with fiber gasket, my side vent port was oriented at the close-to-upright position you are expecting (no problems getting oil in vent tube when filling oil). The threads of the black plastic cap are a very loose mating fit to the aluminum but it tightened well and sealed very well.

Screws in exactly as it should. It came with a cork gasket for the cap and a paper gasket for the filler itself. The breather faces upwards when the filler is fully installed. It is as it should be.

Perfect item to get rid of that bulky stock filler, looks amazing, performance is a plus!

It fit perfectly and looks awesome for my project on my 1974 1600 Dual Port that sits in my 1958 Beetle Chassis in my Myer Manx Buggy

The VW OEM oil filler on our 40hp dune buggy allowed the engine oil and condensation to drip on the garage floor, not very much but occasionally. Installing this device and routing the vent hose to the carburetor intake piping solved the problem. Black plastic filler cap gasket had to be trimmed to fit properly, no leaks. Easy installation, quality Empi product.
