The Game Master's Terrain Guide: How to Use Wetlands, Forests, and Mountains in Fantasy Role-Playing Games Paperback – October 22, 2018

I enjoyed reading this as a quick idea generator. It's a quick read, short ideas.

I was a but disappointed at the limited amount of information available in this book. I've seen more information in larger books but they also had a bigger price tag. So I suppose for what I paid I got what I paid for.

Pretty disappointed and not worth the price. There are a couple nice ideas but overall it's only good if you have never heard of what a forest or a mountain are...I also wasn't expecting it to be so small (30 pages in a huge font with wide interline spaces, poor formating and redundant images, as if again you've never heard of what a forest or a mountain are).This could have been a 1-2$ PDF file.

I prefer my roleplay material books to be substantial--almost textbook like. This isn't that. It's short, with large lettering, and although it writes out semi-detailed descriptions, I think a dungeon master would get more information by reading the wikipedia pages on the subject.Furthermore, if you're thinking you'll get a book that looks good on the shelf, think again. This book reminds me of those coloring books I got my kid from the dollar store.Better binding would go a long way, but more importantly, better material would go even further. I would settle for either: a lot of information about terrain and how it can be used creatively to tell a story in RP games plus some rules that can be used to amplify the game, even some instructions to help set builders in creating better art for their RP dungeon sets and then package it in a binding that looks like a coloring book. OR skip all that and at least make the binding hardback or more substantial so that it looks nice on the shelf next to DND or Pathfinder books.

I guess I read into the description. I was expecting some random tables. It's really just what it says, summaries. I guess the summary is decent, but not enough new information you cant get from DM guide.

I guess I dont run my games like this. I thought it would be useful, but I found most of the info to be useless and felt like filler. Still, there is some stuff of use in it and it is cheap...so you cant complain too much. But again, if you run a certain type of game, lets say a more old school game, then you may get more out of it than I did.
