It's certainly hilarious in an incredibly crude way, it had me chuckling and reading parts to my husband the whole time. But it only took me one lazy beach day to read the whole thing, I'm not sure it was worth the $10 and wish I could have borrowed it from a friend.DO NOT take it as anything like an advice book. I couldn't help but cringe at the situation the author put herself into and blithely justifies to the reader - she proudly forgoes vegetables, makes and eats a batch of brownies each day, packs on 60 pounds (and quotes her doctor to justify this as 'normal'), rants about hating skinny people, then complains about being fat and her constant constipation. It is not meant to be a guide through pregnancy. It is only meant to make you laugh and look at yourself from a little less serious perspective. There are many other great books out there which will tell you in a very serious, professional tone about pregnancy symptoms, progress, important things to remember, etc. Buy this book only if you need to get away from those books, and if you have a sense of humor.That being said, I really enjoyed this book. Jenny is very funny, although some might find her language a little offensive (I didn't). She says it like it is. She mentions the beautiful moments of her pregnancy, but she also describes in detail the less pretty aspects of pregnancy. I appreciated this book for its honesty, sense of humor, and less-than-serious tone. Not a medical book and not for people who cannot laugh. I see a bunch of negative reviews from people saying how beautiful pregnancy is and how they were offended by this book. Really? I hate close minded people who think everyone should feel how they feel and think how they think. Yes okay, pregnancy is beautiful: but hemmroids bigger than golf balls are not beautiful so stop lying ladies. Not every woman out there loves being pregnant. There are plenty of things about pregnancy that just plain old suck and Jenny's no holds barred approach to them cracked me up.
