This product has worked well for me. It always comes safely packaged. It's perfect for soap making. I have made soap with it for a while now, and have never had a failed batch. Safe and easy to measure and pour. Good value.

Just respect it: always add lye to water, never the other way around. And ventilate—your face will thank you.

I've used this for soap making and it works exactly as intended. It has a child-resistant lid to help keep it safe.If you plan on getting this for soap, I'd definitely recommend--just make sure you put in 100% in the soap calculator you're using!

Good product great price good quality

I used this in a pot with water to clean greasy caked up car parts. Works very good, just don't use it on aluminum parts. If using cold water give it a day or two to soak. Hot water works faster.

Lye is notoriously caustic, but this particular batch need to have something added to it. Compared to previous batches of food grade lye, this product takes longer to heat up, doesn't get as hot, and doesn't foam as much. In fact, the fumes from using this to clean pots and pans smells rather sour. Maybe there is some sort of additive that retards the reaction with water. I was intending to use this for soap, but will probably consult a commercial supplier. It's still fine for cleaning and pretzel blanching, though.

This is the best lie I've ever gotten. It works best for cold-process soap; it doesn't smell bad. The bottle is very safe around children, but the child-resistant lid is a safety feature. The soap turned out beautifully and makes my skin so soft. The seal was perfect upon arrival. It's easy to use.
