My 3rd one
Love the Instyler. My first one just died after 20 years. I always keep a spare so I will be buying another one soon. Gave my backup to my 12 year old granddaughter so I will be buying another one soon. It is not good for drying hair, but excellent for straightening, giving shine, curling, and waves.

InStyler
This is my second one - wore out the first. I really like this because it gives your hair a little lift as it straightens it. My flat iron makes my hair flat and a little limp. It takes a minute to get the hang of the roller and going slow but it works great!

Love it!
I love this styler. But it didnβt last as long as the first one I used. Itβs so easy and quick for styling touch ups. My hair is very curly and it smooths quickly. Light weight and several heat settings. I will have to order another one since the turning barrel has stopped working.

Bough on a whim...didn't think it would work...BUT IT DID!! (NOT--UPDATED)
UPDATE: IT BROKE AFTER ONLY ABOUT EIGHT (8) USES. :/ This product cost about $80.00. The warranty is ONLY for a year...but I expect it to last for a couple years especially with such light use. It is about 3 months AFTER my one year (so 15 months after) purchase. While pulling the styler thru my hair last night (NO...I did NOT drop it or anything!) one of the blue side brush pieces simply broke off (with a few tiny blues pieces as well, so I cannot "snap it back). :( I was in the middle of doing my hair so tried to finish. Without that side brush...It BURNS your face if you turn the iron that way. NOT WORTH $80 if it's gonna break a few months after warranty. AND....REALIZE, I ONLY used this device AT MOST, EVERY 1-2 MONTHS. (I sometimes do other styles). That means I ONLY got to use it ABOUT EIGHT TIMES before it BROKE!!!! RIDICULOUS!!! I'll bet everyone prob got their money back BEFORE the warranty ended since they used it more...so it broke sooner. If you look at the pictures I'm going to attach, you can see there are little fractures ALL thru the clear blue piece radiating down from the bristles. I NEVER even used this on the HIGHEST HEAT!! How is this plastic SO BRITTLE??? Before it broke .... this was a fav styler and everything I said below in original review was true. JUST with a break after only 8 uses it's a ONE STAR for me. I consider this a bad purchase on my part...I made a mistake. ----------------- I have relaxed hair. Otherwise it would be 4a/b type. Even so...didn't think this would dry my hair. Just hoped for an improved experience in some way...more styling options, etc. Lo and behold... I did a relaxer touch up, conditioning treatment, toweled it dry (towel hair dry REALLY well) and applied a heat protectant spray in. DO- Use the included guard heat shield (or re-experience childhood memories of the pressing comb....) DO- READ and FOLLOW the short directions. DO-GO SLOWLY down the hair section. Give the heat time to dry. I watched youtubes beforehand to get the method right. DO- make sure barrel rotates the correct direction. Easy to do with double click action. I used the top heat setting, did TWO passes (one to dry and one to style) And I was DONE! Super fast and I had a flat iron look WITHOUT having to blow dry first!! BUT I DID blow dry my hair AFTER I finished with the inStyler. Why? Couldn't reach the roots good. hair felt slightly damp all over at my scalp level. But hair was dry and straight now, so took 2-5 mins to just comb thru with my comb style blow dryer and PERFECTION!! It slipped thru my hair in no time. i will say, i have reasonable well hydrated hair that is reasonable strong. I had great flat iron look with this and I do think some of the shine was due to the rotating barrel. FIRST TIME USE RIGHT OUTTA THE BOX!! All in all...can't believe this product didn't exist before. It's a week later and my hair still looks great :)

sweaty process) looks like I have legitimately curly hair - and this is ...
Man, I wanted this to work for me. I researched exhaustively and out of all the choices I settled on this, because the technology intrigued me, and because I wanted something that dried and styled my hair at the same time. My hair is a combination of sort-of-straight in the very back (near the nape of my neck) to a combo of frizzy/large, unruly, waves and curls, especially near the front of my head, and at the crown. The strands are thin, but there are a lot of them. It is surprisingly hard to straighten, even for professionals; It is the kind of hair that a. after 45 minutes of drying with a round-brush, results in a giant, straight-sh poof, b. slowly waves up in a couple of spots over the course of the day no matter how it's straightened and c. if I coat it with curl boosters and curl-diffuse-blow-dry it with surgical precision, and then spray it to within an inch of its life with a soft-hold hairspray (an exhausting, hot, sweaty process) looks like I have legitimately curly hair - and this is what I WISH my hair just DID, without effort. In short, my hair kinda sucks. :P Now, onto this styler (which I used with a really good heat-protectant all-over and a very light leave-in conditioner only on the ends): What didn't work: First of all, man, it took a really, really long time to dry my whole head, especially the hair on the top of my head. At least 45 minutes. Secondly, it left my hair kind of limp. Just...blah, with no body at all. And I tried really hard to coax lift at the roots and some curl-under at the ends, so, considering how many other users commented on how much body they got with this, I'm scratching my head over it. In the end I was really bummed when after all that effort I had to just pull it all back i a limp little pony-tail, Third, the device was kinda heavy (but not prohibitively so for most folks, I'd suspect), and I think its weight is necessary considering its build and the materials used, but since it took so long to dry my hair with it it got tiresome lugging it around my head and pulling it through my hair. Finally, I burned my fingers twice, even though I was really mindful about where the heat-source was. This thing needs to come with a glove, period. What did work: I love the design and conceptually it SHOULD have had a more voluminous effect on my hair as the physics for that IS there; for some reason it just didn't work for me. And, the rotating aspect is really cool, it's easy to switch rotation direction, and as I used it I really appreciated the cleverness of that feature... *sigh*....Maybe it's just my hair specifically wasn't meant for this device, and I can see how others would love it. Unfortunately the higher cost just makes it so I'm going to have to return it to try something else (i.e.If it were lower-priced I'd probably keep it and try it in conjunction with a hot-air brush - which I have to buy now anyway - first).

Used this for six months and love it. The variable temperature settings make it easy to use for different styles

Great product. Two thumbs up ππ»πππ»
This product works really well on my hair. To be honest, I havenβt used it on very wet hair because I like to blow dry it a bit with the InStyler Mavis brush, which also works like a charm. I do notice that if my hair is a little bit wet underneath, the InStyler wet to dry rotating barrel will take care of it. Thanks InStyler and Amazon ππ»πππ» P.S., yes, I really do recommend this product 100%.
