Highly Recommended Artist Watercolor !
I read few reviews about this brand and decided to give it a try. Indeed its very satisfying and brings a big smile to my face every time I paint and use it. The one I ordered is 36 pan which comes in sturdy white palette and large mixing areas. Each pan is 2.5ml/full pan and the palette can fit a big brush (brush is not included). I use many different watercolor brands, so this definitely can keep me for quite some time although I still find an excuse to use it every time :) The palette is perfect fit when I'm travelling. Watercolor has very strong pigmentation, easy to rewet, good transparancy and glide smoothly on the paper. In my painting, I don't do lots of mixing/max 2 colors and I found no issues, such as muddy paint. Now I'm thinking of my student grade Winsor & Newton 45 half pan which I bought as my first watercolor paint. Although I'm a beginner, after I got the St Petersburg watercolor, I realised that artist quality does make difference to my paintings. It's not really nice to say, but I should have purchased St Petersburg in the first hand if I knew earlier rather than buying student grade which has lower quality in vibrancy and difficulty to rewet the paints. Having said that, this is just my own opinion and experience. It may not necessarily fit to your circumstance/consideration, such as budget to spend, the amount of time you paint, and how passionate you are about watercolor. After all, buying artist watercolor doesnt come in cheap price tags and it's an investment decision. St Petersburg paint, however is pretty affordable, and really a good value for your money to get artist quality paint. Hope my reviews can share some info to everyone on purchasing watercolor. Happy painting all..^^ Lola JF

Best paints around at any price
I got these as a warm-up set and put them away, thinking at this price they couldn't really be all that good. Yes. They. Are. After working with Daniel Smith and other high end paints, I got them out just to use them up and have a travel case. I had to make several swatch pages to see if I was really seeing the quality I thought I was seeing. I was! And there are colors here that aren't usually found in sets in this price range. Some reviewers have remarked about the lightfastness, but I'm seeing the same rankings on the wrappers as I find in other, much more expensive, sets. The best part is that there are only a few that are made with more than one pigment, making them very easy to mix without getting mud. I do like Daniel Smith because of the granulation, but most of the earth tones here also granulate. Confession time. I have TWO of these sets, and yet my fingers are itching to buy a third, even though I don't need one. I did topple one set on the floor and had the pans scatter everywhere. That turned out to be a good thing. It showed me just how densely pigmented these are because I couldn't tell the colors apart without swatching (the darker the paint in the pan, the denser the pigmentation). Unlike Holbein, which uses many different pigments in most of their colors, as well as white, these give a very crisp, fresh color and are fabulous for layering while maintaining transparency. he scattered pans also gave me a chance to write the color name on each pan before putting them back in the palette and securing each one with a small piece of rolled painters tape. I can remove one without them all pulling up. Don't be fooled by the price. These are excellent.

The best value in artist quality watercolors
I'm so happy with my choice of White Nights 36 full pans! These paints are luscious. Pans are full and they re-wet easily. Lightfast ratings are accurate in my independent tests. It's fairly easy to tell if watercolors have been augmented with cheap dye to bring out color, and these have not. Colors are true and absolutely beautiful. I really like the removable second mixing tray, as that makes it easy to clean. As I would do for any other brand, I added some double-face tape beneath the pans to keep them in place during travel. When you get deeper into the world of watercolor, you'll inevitably start switching out colors from a pre-made set and replacing them with certain paints you like better. I replaced one fugitive color and one super opaque color with different individual pans of White Nights I purchased elsewhere. Other than that, I'm completely happy with 34 of the 36 included pans. I've tried so many brands of watercolor and consider White Nights my go-to. Prang isn't vibrant. Koi is too chalky. Winsor & Newton do not re-wet easily and are susceptible to caking in pans. Daniel Smith is amazing and has such an extensive range, but they're considerably more expensive. I like Mei LIang Pretty Excellent very much for planning and art journaling, but you can't buy individual pans to replenish your favorites. White Nights beats them all!

Exceeds any so-called student grade paint. Don't hesitate on this purchase!
Absolutely love these paints. I have always struggled with watercolor painting and I was really struggling using student grade paints like WN Cotman. I was about to give up and just stick to my usual oil and acrylics until I purchased these White Knights paints. I purchesed the 36 pan palette. The colors are so vibrant! And they wet so easily, like butter. The only color I take issue with (besides the universally useless white) is the yellow ochre, which is quite hard to moisten and lacks the same vibrancy as the others in the palette. The case is wonderful too. Nice sturdy plastic and not brittle like other palettes. It has two large mixing areas, one of which is removable for convenience. Be aware that the pans are not fastened with magnets, so you could feasibly have a mess figuring out what`s what if you drop them out of the palette. To prevent this problem, i simply wrote the paint name on the bottoms of each pan after creating my swatch card so that i would know which paint goes where. Also, regarding the swatch card, WK included a nice cotton watercolor paper for the swatches, making it so easy and enjoyable. I was in awe as i put my colors to the paper for the first time. I have to say that 58 bucks for FULL pans, a great case, and such luscious color that stays vibrant when dry is such a steal. I will buy more and encourage both beginners and pros to check out these watercolor paints. Also, fast shipping. I got mine in a few days. I can`t say enough and look forward to trying ANY of their other products in the future.

One of the best watercolor brands out there
This is a short review just to say that these are hands-down the best watercolors I have ever used in my life. Previous to these my favorite brand has been Sennelier and these are extremely comparable in vibrance and quality. My watercolor art often includes black ink and even with heavy washes there isn't that chalkiness that fades the black lineart like I've found with QOR and Prima Marketing watercolors. The palette is compact and attractive from the get-go. I was prepared to be disappointed with the color mixing portion of the plastic palette, but this seems to have some sort of coating or extra polishing or something which allows for the colors to lie in a flat puddle rather than beading. I exclusively paint on ceramic or ceramic-coated palettes because of this quality, but was pleasantly surprised to find the included palette seems to be be a good halfway point between plastic and ceramic by being light enough to travel with, but good enough quality to discourage paint beading. Time will tell if the plastic is resistant to scratches and such, but as it lives inside the case, I doubt it'll be a problem. Also, the mixing portion is completely removable if there is any problem with it whatsoever. I would definitely recommend these to professional artists out there who are looking for very vibrant colors that remain translucent. I am definitely going to keep this set in my rotation.

Fantastic watercolors!
Words can't truly describe how much I love this set. The colors are vibrant and with the honey content, they rewet easily. Considering these are 36 full pans of real pigments (cadmiums, cobalt) rather than hues, the set is a great deal. The yellows (including several cadmiums and yellow ocher) are semi-opaque and the blues are more transparent. Some of the earthy browns are a bit granulating. The cobalt and browns do take a couple minutes longer than other pigments to soften up but they're fine as long as you give them a few drops of water and some time to sit. The selection includes everything you would need for a split primary palette and then some; I originally bought it so I'd have a wide selection colors for practicing triad exercises but it has become my go-to paint set for everything else too. The palette is plastic but sturdy. This is NOT a travel palette. It is large and the pans are not anchored into the tray. This is perfect for studio use because it is easy to lift the pans out even when they are wet and gummy from the honey. According to YouTube reviews, the travel 12-pan version does come with a track than the pans slide into to keep them anchored so they won't stick to the lid but this 36-pan set is not a travel set. A pleasant surprise is the palette mixes well right out of the box, with very little beading and no scuffing required. Shipping was quick. Set arrived a week before the beginning of the delivery estimate window.

Great value, vivid colours
These watercolours took almost 4 weeks to get to me in the Caribbean. I finally got them however. The seller packaged the box in a tight cardboard box apparently without bubble wrap so that the watercolour brand box packaging was a bit squashed when it came to me. The palette was fine though as it is made from fairly sturdy plastic. The watercolours are so bright and rich in colour and easily rewetted. I can't wait to start painting with them. Some of the colours are more opaque and some much more transparent. I use Holbein paints now but these ones seem more vivid. These are great for serious students and artists who want to work in watercolour with good tools. This set can teach you about the property of different pigments and colour mixing. This can also be used for work that you want to reproduce because the colours are quite vivid. I wasn't sure how lightfast the colours are but I found some lightfastness ratings and the pigment used on the wrapper of the pans. I don't know a lot about this brand so if you want to be sure you could use brand with more documented lightfastness ratings like Winsor & Newton, Senneiler, Schmincke, Maimeriblu etc. Having said that these are pretty easy to work with and come in a nice plastic case - which I think is the same one the large Cotman set comes in. For the price this is really quite good.
