It appears to be plastic so not as easy to break. I have so much fun using this. I make a viewing template out of paper or card stock by tracing the epp paper then cutting out the shape. Place it on the fabric, set the mirror on top and decide where to cut.

Has clear, clean and easy to adjust views of images.
The viewing quality is excellent. it was clean and well-packaged. It was difficult to open so I doubled a tape and stuck in upper center to make opening easier. I also handle the edges only as much as possible to avoid finger print smudges on the front sides or grease deterioration on the back. I have noticed several quilting instructors using this same one with the cut out hearts pattern.

I think this mirror with work out quite well. Haven't used it yet.

Kaleidoscope and fussy cutting tool
If you're planning to do fussy cutting or kaleidoscope effects, this mirror is fantastic. I had a blast just sliding it across my fabric, watching the designs change.
