I wish I had enough of this on hand to do the whole thing. It doesn’t go far and of course pricier than roll out straw mats but look at the photos. Both the straw and this were laid at the same time and before I put both down I put Rye and Bermuda seed down. The material this uses sticks like glue once wet. If it weren’t for wind you could almost lay them down without spikes. Once they get wet you can’t move them and they deteriorate within a couple weeks unlike the straw mesh. Review: Fragile - Does Not Work - It didn't work. I followed the instructions, prepared the soil, laid it carefully and watered it 3 times a day. You need to use a light mist on your hose pipe sprayer to avoid tearing up the Growtrax. It's super thin and light and even a small breeze caused it to lift up - first problem. I continually put it back in place, hopeful it would still work. The big problem came when it rained. It was a fairly heavy rain and it destroyed all 500 sq feet of Growtrax I had put down. It simply washed the Growtrax into messy clumps all over my yard. This product did not work at all for me and turned out to be a waste of both effort and $'s . ## Features - GRASS GROWING SOLUTION: Growtrax Grass Seed fabric contains Seed, Fertilizer and Mulch in one easy to use ‘roll out’ growing system. Our GrowTrax Blue Rye is great for cold climates. The GrowTrax Tall Fescue is good for "Cool/Moderate" climates. Bermuda is great for hot or extremely hot temperatures. **Q: Is GrowTrax affected by wind?** A: Yes! Don't lay GrowTrax in windy conditions. Choose calm days, or pre-water in windy areas for better stick. Add soil on the wind-facing edge of GrowTrax to prevent lift, allowing grass to grow through. **Q: What kind of seed is in GrowTrax?** A: Not all grass seed is created equal, the quality of the actual seed is reflective in the quality of the grass to be grown; GrowTra only uses premium certified weed free Oregon seed. **Q: Is GrowTrax safe for pets?** A: GrowTrax is safe for pets because it`s real grass. We recommend keeping pets off the GrowTrax until the grass has grown 3 inches. If pets will be outside, we recommend sectioning off an area for GrowTrax and an area for pets to play. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ This Stuff is Amazing - So Much Better than Straw! *by C***I on June 3, 2021* I bought some of this to repair an area of my Bermuda grass after digging a trench for a French drain. This product did not work at all for me and turned out to be a waste of both effort and $'s . ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ product performed better then expected! *by P***K on June 15, 2021* Grotrax was very easy to use...but it is going to require you to work a little. Before you start read the directions on the back of the label (you are going to have to open the roll to get to these. Prepare your soil! soak it down overnight as directed. Lay your mats....I found they cut much easier with scissors then a blade..... Water well 2 or 3 times a day! You just can't lay the mats down and expect grass. Living in Central Texas on the rocky escarpment I could only get about an inch or so of loose soil but it seems to be enough. I spotted grass sprouting this morning lots of grass. it's been 5 days since I laid the mats. Now it is on me to keep it moist as directed. Highly recommend as a cheaper alternative to sod... if you can and are willing to wait a few weeks. I have now used this product 3 times. Two of the three have been highly successful. I have a very shaded front yard full of grass instead of mud! the third has been down only two days but I can't see why they won't grow also. I used them to cover some still bare edges and a few isolated bare spots. It has all been quick and easy. I have one more spot to fix near the driveway but have to correct a drainage problem first. Those who lack success, maybe it's a low spot that collects water drowning the seeds. I don't know but I have had no trouble. My neighbor bought some after looking at my yard and walking the dog the other day past his house I noticed he has grass growing in the places he patched with Grotrax. Pic 3 when I laid Grotrax pic 2 after 3 weeks pic 3 now after 8 weeks ## Frequently Bought Together - Growtrax Biodegradable Grass Seed - 100 SQFT Bermuda Rye - Grass Seed and Fertilizer for Lawns, Dog Patches & Shade - Just Water & Grow - No Fake or Artificial Grass - 50 ct.
