New Kanzen Master N2 JLPT for Learning Japanese 5 Books Set , Kanji , Grammar , Vocabulary , Listening & Reading Comprehension Paperback – January 1, 2010

Hello, all. I'm preparing for the JLPT N2 test in December 2019. I've got pretty solid reading, writing, and listening skills in Japanese , so I'm hopeful. Anyway, I bought these books three months before the big test and they're going to be my main source of practice. After picking up and putting down the books several times over the past two weeks, I'm starting to second guess my purchase. I may have over reached here. It's not that I can't understand it, but I'm thinking I'd be more effective with English explanations along side the Japanese. These books are 100% in Japanese, which is really good for studying purposes and , if you're like me, I have to read every sentence, word by word, absorb it, translate it in my head, then apply it to the lesson and consider it's implications. But, I can feel the time just slipping away from me. If I were living in Japan or if I were still a student in college with zero other responsibilities, I could take time to go thru these text books carefully, but I don't live there and I'm not a student anymore. On the positive side the books are JAM PACKED with useful information. These books are content rich. It's like drinking Japanese thru a fire hose. I'd say, overall, I'm picking up 25% new information here and hopefully that's the 25% that's going to push me over the top. The samples used in the book are in such a way that even if you've never seen the Japanese words before you can guess their meaning from the context of the overall sentence. Hey, I get it. I signed up for the N2 and it's advanced, so I can't be crying about that. I'm just letting you know, to get into the details of these books you need time to do it well. Good Luck, Jim

Expensive but very comprehensive study guide. Shipping was reasonable. They shipped an added small stationary gift as well for help studying, which was a nice gesture. Great experience.

I got these as a gift for my wife who is studying for the JLPT exam. When she saw it, she even commented that it's one of the best out there. She was absolutely thrilled. This set has pretty much everything you need for the N2 exam. What you need is the tenacity and dedication to go through this material as the exam is not easy.My wife is fluent in Japanese but she needs the certification because she's not a native speaker and many Japanese related jobs require the N2 or N1. Again, with her background, the fact that she recognized this set as a top study kit is very telling.
