Bought this chuck after reading about the most expensive Chuck on the Planet and found that it is (almost) worth it's high cost. There is nothing else like it, and it really does work. Do you need it? Probably not, but if you can spare the change, it really is a game-changer when it comes to convenience and ease of use. No more fumbling around to keep a lesser chuck on the valve, this one works the first time, every time. It does take some adjustment to get it to bite on the valve stem, and the polymer seal will last a lot longer on unthreaded stems, but is easily replaceable when it wears out.

So finally decided to get it. I've had a working Specialized pump for years & it recently wasn't clamping well onto valves especially the new non threaded TPU tubes without leaking. Was looking into replacing it. Got this instead. Love it. Works great with the TPU tubes. No leaking, very secure and easy to clamp on. In addition works well with pumps (like a Lezyne) that have a schrader threaded piece. Lightweight and can see possibility of carrying for long rides for in the fired flat with small pump.

After switching to latex tubes I noticed my chuck from my silca pump would not stay on the new style valve stems. It finally annoyed me enough that I bought this new chuck for the pump. Even with the clamp, it still won't stay on the valve stems. The pump, chuck, and tubes are all Silca so they should work together well but they don't. Silca products are expensive and to my mind, not worth the bother.

Are you frustrated with those chucks that leak more air than what goes into the tire and hard to attach...this chuck is the answer! I admit it seems like an expensive item for just putting air into tires, but this one is worth it to ME! So simple, easy and completely functional that I find it worth every penny! Get it and you won't be disappointed! Important Note - you also have to purchase the Universal Schrader Chuck Attachment separately from the chuck itself!! Otherwise you can't attach it to your pump hose! Why they don't EVEN tell you this in the order information is a mystery?

I have another copy of the Hiro side-lock chuck and it is very good, easy to use and doesn't leak. However, due to someone applying the wrong bar code sticker on the box, I could never get Amazon to deliver the Hiro chuck as ordered--the standard Presta chuck was delivered instead. I returned two of them, and finally ordered Hiro chuck directly from Silca.

seems solid, but just doesn't function as well as the venerable Hirame chuck. First one I had only last a year or so and it would no longer tighten down properly on the stem; rather than sending it back I just bought a second one. This one works, but again not as well as I believe it should.

Perhaps I will get better at it over time. Right now I have a hard time with one handed operation and two hands between the spokes is hard to do.
