Light,nutty,healthy,fiber
I just added barley to my grains rotation. This cooks up nicely according to the package directions, in about 30 minutes. I eat it like rice, mixing it with beans or vegetables. It’s got a chewy, nutty taste that makes it feel like a good meal on its own. Would also work as a substitute for breakfast oatmeal. Glad I tried it.

Delicious Barley with the flavor and texture you remember your mother making.
Flavor and texture like you remember your mother making. Cooked it in a rice cooker with equal parts of black rice and 2 parts water, some bouillon, and a bit of oil. DELICIOUS.

Mine sprouted! Very satisfied.
I was slightly wary on ordering this because on the package it says “pearled barley” even though it looks like hulled, which is far preferable. Also while calling itself “pearled” it still claimed to be able to sprout which is what I wanted. So, a bit confused I ordered it partly because of the price and I am absolutely delighted with the results. After only a couple of hours soaking the grains began to sprout! A great bargain for what turns out to be an excellent, highly nutritious product. It’s a disservice to call this excellent barley “pearled” (polished).

Chewy Like Gummy, Love it!
Chewy Like Gummy which I like. Followed the cooking instructions on the packet. Turned out better tasting because of the chewy-ness of it. Suppose to be good for you...so, good tasting and healthy, too.

The product is clean ready to use. I rinse it a few times ( my choice) not necessary and I add it to soup. Very delicious.

NOT SPROUTABLE!!!
I bought 20 pounds of this to sprout....that is all I want it for...sprouting. It is advertised as sproutable....it is NOT SPROUTABLE. I am very disappointed!! only entering one star rating as this will not let me do ZERO stars.
