This is very comfortable. Rubberized grip really is an improvement. Do be warned; this is only for the FLEX Mossberg 500. Not for old 500's. The mounting point where it meets the aft receiver is NOT the screw in type. It slides into rails. I was curious and did not find an adapter for old m500's. It would have increased the length anyway. Very well made part. Review: FLEX stock and things to consider - I must have been looking at this wrong when I ordered it because I have a standard Mossberg 500. The standard Mossberg needs a special adapter to make this work. The adapter costs fifty dollars at this time. But, you then have the ability to easily swap out for a pistol grip or other flex rear butt piece, which is neat. The main reason I purchased this was to get a shorter length of pull. I bought a red dot sight and even with the sight all the way back on the mount, it still did not have enough eye relief to work properly. In my opinion shotguns have too long a length of pull out of the factory, but I am a 5'5" female so that comes into play. Some disadvantages: Weaker than the standard stock that I replaced, thinner plastic towards the rear and sidewall of the pad end. If I had to redo this purchase I would probably buy one of the AR style adjustable stocks, even though I think they look dumb on a shotgun. ***** I do not like the quick removable recoil pad feature. I have concerns it will come off accidentally, the little detent button is on the bottom rear and is very sensitive. Regarding the flex adapter, there is danger of it scratching the metal receiver when it rotates. (This is regarding the adapter which is separate of this product.) Pros-thick pad. It's a butt stock it serves it's purpose. If you are considering getting a pistol grip accessory as well be aware that the Mossberg 500's have the safety switch at the top rear of the receiver which is not easily reached from the 90 degree style pistol grip shape.
