The best drying rack I've ever owned!
My husband and I both air-dry the majority of our clothes, so our drying racks get a lot of use, and we've known many of them over the years. This is by far the best one I've ever used (even among wooden drying racks). Absolutely worth the cost, and a joy to use. Pros: - Incredibly sturdy and well-made. Very durable - I don't expect this to break after a couple of years, as the others have. - The wooden bars are thicker (in terms of diameter) than most other drying racks - this means that air can circulate a little more around the clothes and they dry faster. - The wooden bars have more texture and grip than metal bars, which means lightweight and slippery garments (like underwear) are less likely to slide off onto the floor. - Most drying racks are only somewhere around 40-48 inches tall - this one is 60 inches tall. If you place the drying rack in front of a window so the sunlight helps dry your clothes, there are more clothes in the light. - The additional height also means there are more bars than most drying racks, so you can hang more garments and/or spread your garments out more. - There's a row of bars at the same height if you want to lay garments out flat to dry them. This is pretty common among drying racks, but this rack has 5 rather than the customary 4 bars across - it means your garments lay flatter and are more secure if the rack is bumped. - Supporting high-quality American manufacturing! - Increased durability also means less landfill waste. Cons (depending upon your priorities): - Heavier than some other drying racks - Takes up more floorspace than some other drying racks

Very well made in the USA. Excellent product.
This wooden clothes drying rack is the best made one I have ever seen. Made in the USA. I'm 5'4". It's only a couple inches shorter than me. It opens and closes with ease. It's easy to move from one place to another. Make sure your fingers are not near any of the moving parts when opening and closing it. This should be common sense. As with anything you are opening and closing you don't put your fingers or hands where they shouldn't be. It comes fully assembled. Yeah.. The hardwood is strong and sturdy. The wood is unfinished and it should be. Any kind of coating could potentially ruin your clothes so you should never get one that is coated. I have not had any problems with raised grain due to the contact with water. I move the clothes around and let it dry in between. If the grain ever does raise and it's a little rough just use a little 180 grit sandpaper and smooth it out. I did that to my last one. This looks brand new after several uses. I'm not washing the whole neighborhoods laundry so it's staying nice. I have not used it outside in the sun yet. I will this summer. If I don't update this post with anything less than 5 stars it is still working great. I love this rack. And, it has never fallen over with my clothes on it. I highly recommend.

Top-quality clothes drying rack. BIG and built to last.
Design: Classic folding laundry rack, secured by deep notches at the 3rd-level cross bar. Large 3/4" diameter dowels help clothes dry faster when 1 piece (like a shirt) is folded over a bar -- there's a wider gap between the two pieces of wet fabric hanging down, hence faster drying. Middle (waist-high) tier has 5 closely-spaced dowels for hanging lots of small items like socks or underwear. Usability: Excellent. This rack can hold 35 pounds of wet clothes without flexing, I'd say closer to 45 or 50 pounds with careful loading. Set-up / Take down in less than 10 seconds. Durability - updated 2016-05-24, 2.5 years after purchase: Excellent, no signs of bending / loosening of joints / sagging or any other problems. I think with reasonably careful use this rack will last decades. NOTE this is bare-wood (unfinished) product. If left unsealed, like almost all other bare wood products it will absorb moisture, tend to darken & stain light-colored clothing, and within a few years the rods will warp & bend. This is the nature of bare wood as a material, not a fault of the manufacturer. You should plan to seal this wood product using a high-quality wipe-on or spray-on polyurethane sealer. ----- Since product dimensions on Amazon can be iffy sometimes, here are the exact specs from my unit. Note that this is just one example & others could vary somewhat due to manufacturing tolerances. Weight: 14 lbs 5 oz In-Use height: 59 3/4" Stowed height: 7 3/4" Width (long direction, across): 42" at widest point, 39" usable bar width Depth (short direction, front to back): 20" at widest point, 17" between outer bars. Dowel diameter: 3/4" Finish: totally uncoated / unfinished, plain wood. Fasteners: qty. 18 x "SPAX"-brand 1" x #6 phillips screws, coarse thread (like small deck screws,) zinc finish.

Best Drying Rack Ever!
The expression "you get what you pay for" is proven true with this drying rack! Yes, it's not cheap, but the quality of the material, the workmanship, and the durability make it the last drying rack you'll ever need. It stands nearly 5 feet tall, and can accommodate a ton of laundry. The hanging rods are solid and thick...unlike my last drying rack, where they were so cheap and skinny that they bent after a few months of use. If you like to use your rack outside, have no fear... it won't blow over, even if you hang just a silk scarf on it. I love love love this rack...thank you, Benson Wood Products!

Hardwood drying rack. Quality made. Easy to assemble. Sturdy.
Best rack for the money. Made of all natural hard wood...looks like maple. Easy to assemble and sturdy. Made here in USA. It's a large drying rack... 5 feet tall. Love the shelf...good for my boots and mittens. I like that I can collapse it without worry of wearing it out. I just put it in the closet and when I need it, pull it out and expand it. I click the shelf in place and DONE... easy as that. Good job. I have already recommended it to my neighbors how have the kids playing in the snow. How easy it that to place your wet snowy jackets and mittens, scarfs and caps, onto the shelf and hang the coats onto the drying bars. Good job.

Quality rack
I purchased the large size rack, very happy with it! The rack is well made, sturdy, easy to move around and fold up as needed. It holds a large load of clothes. I use it for drying my clothes that I don't put in the dryer. It will last for years. Finally got rid of two smaller very rickity unsturdy racks. I would highly recommend this rack. I like that there are different sizes available. And best of all Made In USA thanks to Benson Wood Products!

The BEST drying rack I have ever owned!
I grew up with wood clothes drying racks in our home. As an adult, I have purchased several others from various places. The quality of those was always poor to mediocre. The rods would either break easily or they paint that was used as a finish would end up chipping and ending up on my clothes. This rack by Benson wood products is much, much larger than any other rack that I have ever used, even as a kid! The dowels used in the rods are thick, so they are not going to break or bend under the weight of wet, heavy clothes and bedding. It's super easy to set up and take down and it is really easy to store, too. I use this outside on my porch or indoors during colder days. I love it so much, I am probably going to get a second one for those days when I have a whole lot of laundry to do and to save on energy costs by not using an electric dryer.

Protect rack from mildew and warpage.
I leave the rack outside in the covered patio all the time because we put our bath towels out to dry daily. I had to buy a second rack because of heavy mildew and warpage on the first rack after two or three months. I solved the problem of mildew and warpage on the second rack by covering the wood poles with plastic pipe and have not had any mildew or warpage problems for over a year. Here's how I did it. First I measured all the poles. Then I cut the pipe into 37" to 39" lengths which allowed for the various pole lengths and made the unit a little wider by about 6." Then I cut all the poles about 6" from one end. I then inserted the poles into the pipes. Next I screwed the pipes to the poles and in some cases screwed the poles to the frame members. The unit does not fold for storage when you do this. Here is the pipe info. The pipe is made in England and is designed for compressed air. The inside diameter is 3/4" which fits perfectly over the poles. Here is the info printed on the pipe itself: "DURAPLUS AIRLINE FOR COMPRESSED AIR 25MM SDR8.3 185PSI@73 DEGREES F-86PSI@140 DEGREES F ASTMD3965 CELL CLASS 55535 0204.27.13 W339849 8342 MADE IN GREAT BRITAIN." You may have to go to a pipe wholesaler to find this pipe. Further information - The pipe cracks and splinters when cut or sawed. To avoid this you will need a pipe cutter. I bought my for about $65 from the pipe wholesaler. The pipe cuter is made by "Wheelr Rex Pipe tools, model 5290." You may be able to buy it online from [...]. Home Depot now carries a pipe cutter for under $20.00 but I do not know anything about it.
