A Fantastic book about crystals and rocks, so informative!
It wasn't exactly what I expected from a crystal book but I've found out so much more about them through flicking through this. It's a massive hardback and chock full of geology - great stuff, perfect for my bookcase

Excellent illustrations
The illustrations and photographs are ideal for my intended use as a starting point for textile design. Good sized in paperback to carry around. Sufficient information on each page for my requirements, not too much scientific info.

Very good reference book
An excellent reference work. I'm not a serious scholar but for someone with a passing interesting and bugeoning collection - this is ideal.

Absolutely Beautiful!!
This book is packed with images and variations and very useful details. I use it as a reference for crystal healing and identifying stones.

Da avere se vi interessano i minerali e le gemme!
Preso per un esame universitario molto specifico, è però un libro molto bello e dalla composizione attraente. Riporta tutte le notizie essenziali e al tempo stesso ha delle bellissime immagini. Consigliabilissimo!

Beautiful book
Such a beautiful book for anyone that interest in crystals, rocks and fossils. The Illustrations are phenomenal and is a really interesting read even if you are not in the field.

The best book I've ever found for an introduction to the subject area.
This is my first go-to guide when I want to look something up at a basic level. And, heh, I'm a geologist. The graphics are stunning and the subjects are well researched. The subjects are tied into culture, history and industrial uses of rocks and minerals in great ways. I've always been a fan of the publisher, Dorling Kindersley. I would say that the biggest weakness of the book is the section on fossils. For fossils, though, I would turn to Dorling Kindersley's book on Prehistoric Life or the British Natural History Museum's book on Fossils: the key to the past.
