Top Notch Hard Adjustable Skate Guards - Red Glitz

Adjustability is great
I've bought both types of skate guards recently (some that are adjustable and some that aren't), and these are definitely my preference. I thought it'd be annoyingly difficult to cut them, but it's not that bad as long as you use a good knife (I used a heavy box cutter). The instructions are clear and will help you get a near-perfect fit, but the springs and design of these means it's fine if it isn't! They're sturdy and durable and do the job well.

Super convenient rigid guards
Love these guards. Once you've cut them to size, removing and installing them is so easy. Durable enough that they can be walked on in the rink before hitting the ice. Great product.

The only blade guards you should buy
We bought another style of blade guards and my daughter complained about them so we tried these. These are perfect. The size is adjustable and the springs do an excellent job of keeping the guards firmly attached to the blade.

Works fine but doesn't like the added smell.
It has been working great. But the added smell so strong that my kids hated it. Soaking in water for days didn't help. I have to leave them in my garage. Finally the smell getting less strong after couple months of using it. Trimming it into the right length was also hard.

They JUST fit my size 6 skates!
I wear a Womens 6 Jackson boot, and these guards are the perfect size. They come with trimming instructions for smaller blades, but if you wear anything larger than maybe a size 7 you would need to look elsewhere. Assembled myself in the span of 5 minutes, very easy all you need is a screwdriver. Why I gave 4 stars… The pink is very cute but not what the picture shows. Also, they mentioned a “berry scent” but I was BLOWN away by how strong the smell was and not in a good way. My whole room smells like cheap strawberry chapstick, I’m hoping it’ll wear off in time. Bottom line: good guards, they’ll do the job even if they are bright pink and smell like a toddler.

Not long enough for adult hockey skates
The description says if your blades are above a certain size, you'll need to buy an extra set or the gap will be too big. On my skates (men's size 9), the gap is larger than the specs on the instructions. I would say if you have adult skates, buy from a manufacturer that sells larger guards. The product itself is well made and a good design. They would be perfect for kids skates.

Great guards and scented
The guards are super durable and fit my blades perfectly. I got the Sprinkles multicolored guards and they came scented almost like a cupcake. Overall these guards are amazing and I would really recommend getting these. Great value for $22

Completely Adjustable (as long as...)
Update since using these. I've upgraded my rating to 4 stars. They seem to work fine, but I can't go all the way to a 5-star rating because there is clearly a limit to the size skate intended to be used by these, but the marketing doesn't reflect that. Additionally, there is a risk that the guard will come apart if I'm not super careful putting them on or taking them off the skates. It's as if no one taller/larger than a 12 year old skates.* 3 stars until I use these enough to warrant more or less. The packaging says "Completely Adjustable" and "Fits most types of Hockey & Figure Skate blades". I just received a pair for my size (US) 13.5 hockey skates and the instructions say, "Unacceptable - centre gap too large – more than 3/4".Well, I didn't need to cut them down at all, but assembled, there is a gap of almost 2" between the front and rear guard. They appear to fit well, despite the gap, and despite me thinking the spring was going to come loose and snap back at me. So why do the instructions say that a gap of more than 3/4" is unacceptable? I don't see any reason why they wouldn't work with a gap that large. Perhaps it's more a liability thing, like, if I'm walking around and I decide to walk on a surface that causes damage within the gap (like the edge of a sidewalk or something). I'd be happy with that explanation, as long as they work and don't damage my skates, or me!

Okay at best
They keep snapping off the skates randomly when they are stationary

Great!
Delivered as advertised, on time. Very happy with the purchase.Helpful tip for 1st time buyers of this type of skate guard, you have to cut the pieces to the correct length for the skate, this is not too difficult to do with a razor blade knife (like an exacto knife), and you have to screw on the springs (philips head screwdriver). There are really good instructions in the package on how to measure the length correctly before cutting.

Pleasantly surprised!
I ordered 2 pairs despite reading some negative reviews. I wanted to give them a chance. I’m so glad I did! Both pairs work great. 1 pair is skate 8 (silver cover) and fit perfectly. The other pair is skate 10 and the gap is a little larger, but still work. Not THE most secure, but it gets the job done :)

Just don’t
This product is useless. The spring does not actually have a way to stay connected to the other end. I’ve tried for 30 minutes and it keeps popping out and I’m going to throw this item into the garbage. Save yourself the trouble and buy something that’s better quality and ideally pre-assembled.

Product is much smaller than it appears
These skate guards are extremely small. Far to small for adult skates. The discription does not say that they are for children's skates but that's what they are. And, they are not returnable. I bought 2 pairs and I'm stuck with them. Very dissapointed.
