I mainly use this a sliding patio door blocker when I go on extended trips away from home. It's simple, solid and easy to use. Solid construction and will last a lifetime.

We purchased this in August 2014 and were happy with the additional security that it brings to our house.Unfortunately, Brinks could do better with the materials used in the product. The U-shaped piece that is supposed to go under your doorknob is made of a type of hard plastic and it broke / shattered when it dropped to the floor.I am very disappointed.

Works great at making me feel safe that someone isn't going to break in. I have these all all doors but one. I have hard wood floors. So they do work on hardwood floors. You just have to have it set up right. I feel better with them here.

Easy to use- and it gives me an extra sense of security.

It's great when using it to block a sliding glass door, but when you're trying to use it to keep a door closed by placing it under the doorknob... it's performance is sub-par. When I place it under the doorknob with the base on my carpet, I can open the door about an inch before it inhibits the movement farther. I think that with a good push the door will fully open.
