2-Slice Toaster with Extra-Wide Slots

Love it!!! It cooked my Ezekiel bread perfectly. The other toaster I bought wouldn’t cook it right. It’s pretty, works perfectly, what more could I ask for. Thanks, Amazon for another great product.

This is the second one we've bought; my husband (bless his dear heart) liked to manually pop up toast even though there is a really nice "Cancel" button, and even though I warned him repeatedly that he would break it....it broke! So, we like this one so we bought another. I do notice that he isn't manually popping toast up any more!

After reading numerous reviews and subsequently using the product, I have these comments:1. It does smell funny when first fired up. I’d expect that - after several dry runs with no bread, the funny smell diminished greatly.2. It was my experience that the bread was toasted as evenly as one could expect for a basic toaster. No complaints there.3. The exterior sides do not get hot; they do get a little warm. The back gets the warmest. Touching the metal parts shortly after use is unwise. After a half-dozen toasting cycles, no part of the plastic exterior was uncomfortable to the touch. No safety concerns.4. I find the cord to be long enough. Most counters are 24” deep which means that there should be sufficient cord length for most applications. A longer cord may require a higher gauge wire which means cord storage is a BIG problem.5. The toaster is lightweight, nice-looking and as fully functional as one would expect a toaster in this price range to be.6. My only complaint (and the reason for docking one star) is that the cord storage on this toaster is awful. Clearly, cord storage was an after thought - and a bad one at that.7. (Update) I concur with other reviewers that the “Bagel” button does absolutely nothing. I tried two bagels - one with the button ON and one with button OFF. Both were equally toasted on both sides - no difference between the cut and uncut sides and no difference between bagel #1 and bagel #2. This isn’t a deal-breaker for me but it is curious that the button is essentially dysfunctional. I would probably never use the “Frozen” button.Bottom line: If you want a basic toaster that gets the job done, this is a reasonable choice (if the price is competitive vs. similar products). But, if you are a bagel fan who primarily wants just the cut side toasted, you should consider looking elsewhere.

Just wanted a basic toaster, which this is and does the job well. Please note cycle it through 3 times before toasting anything to let the smell of the plastic getting hot and open your windows. Beside that is great for a basic toaster.

I bought this toaster based on user reviews and price. So many things to say about it! I don't know where to start, so please excuse me if things get long. From the get-go it has made perfectly wonderful toast with all kinds of bread, thick, thin you name it. Consistent, evenly browned with the dial slightly right of center, maybe at the 12:15 position, maybe closer to 12:30, but certainly not at 12:45! And the toast is warm. Win!I purchased this to replace a Cuisinart 2-slice unit we had for a couple of years. It still worked really well, and like this one, it has a removable crumb tray. Good/bad, but I really don't like to wake up bleary from the night before and think about stuff like that. And I certainly don't in the evening when I'm craving a snack. At the low price of around $26.83 (including tax), I can just order another one and throw this one away and not have to worry about crumbs or cleaning!It has a slightly shorter power cord than our last unit, and is much lighter, since it's body is made from plastic instead of stainless steel. Maybe a slight drawback in a self-defense scenario, since swinging it around with a shorter cord and less weight won't have as much impact, and may actually shatter. Important to know, so I stored it near the blender, which has a much heavier base and longer cord, just in case. Preparation and planning are everything! This is not a deal breaker. I'll report back on the shatter when I buy another toaster.........Suggestions for product development: 1. Maybe Bluetooth/WiFi compatible, so you can see the cycle progress and listen to your playlist or a movie. 2. Additional colors, like Pink, White w/Stripes, Pearl (if you like Jam) Deep Purple or Cream. 3. Solar powered to offset the carbon footprint from the toasting cycle.Anyway, go buy this toaster! It's an awesome product and inexpensive. And it makes toast!

I highly recommend this toaster. I have put it through numerous battles and this toaster has always came out on top. I used to cook frozen hashbrown patties in until I realized that oil was oozing out the back of the toaster. It was bad. This plus the obscene amount of sourdough Aldi everything bagel bread I eat, created a greasy disaster at the bottom of the toaster slots. I first blew out all the crumbs with my trusty Black and Decker leaf blower. I then sprayed Dawn Powerwash in the slots. (Unplugged of course.) I rinsed it out with the kitchen sprayer and then employed the leaf blower again. Let it sit out overnight and then made toast in the morning. (Obviously everything bagel sourdough). It worked perfectly fine and had survived its bath. I have repeated this twice now with no ill effects. Obviously this goes against the manufacturers instructions but damn they know how to make a toaster.

I'm picky about my toasters because I don't want to wait forever for my bread/bagel/english muffin to toast, and I want it to get very dark brown without having to run it twice.I was hesitant to buy this toaster since it's the 2 slice model of the 4 slice toaster my employer has in the breakroom, and that toaster's bagel setting doesn't do anything, requires 2-3 full runs on the darkest setting to get it even dark brown, and takes forever for each run. The toaster this was replacing was also an older Black & Decker non-cool touch model, and that required the max setting be used twice to get things dark enough, and also took a really long time for each run.The Good:This toaster definitely has no problem with the power/darkness of what it produces. The dial goes from 45 degrees down to the left, around to 45 degrees down to the right (270 total degrees), and I won't set it more than 2/3 through it's range. It cooks the bread/bagel/english muffin quickly also, so the overall time spent cooking is amazingly short. I'm also happy about the width, length, and depth of the slots. They're wide enough that a thick bagel doesn't have to be smashed down to fit into the slots. The length of the slots is enough that a wide piece of homemade bread easily fits in the slot. The depth is good enough that a large bagel has no problem dropping completely below the top of the slot when it's depressed. The automatic centering (or whatever they call it) doesn't crush thick bread products when depressed, but does hold it in place well. The cool touch feature also works well. The plastic exterior doesn't melt when using it, nor does it get hot. You still wouldn't want to put it away hot since the edges around the slots are still metal and get hot, but the rest of the toaster barely even feels lukewarm. The rise when pushing the lever up works well also. The old toaster we had the trays would get stuck when you tried to lift the lever to bring the bread higher out of the slots after cooking so you could grab it, but this works smoothly and flawlessly to bring it up high enough to grab comfortably.The Bad:The problems the toaster does have are numerous though. The obvious one is that the bagel setting doesn't do anything. They provide a button labeled bagel, and they have little icons pressed into the metal of the spacer between the slots that indicates how you're supposed to position a bagel, but doing as instructed cooks the outside and inside the exact same amount (it's supposed to cook the outside much less than the inside). Also obviously they had someone design the toaster who didn't know much about how toasters work. Even though the bread products depress well into the slots, the bottom half is the only part that gets cooked. Consistently everything coming out of the toaster, regardless of size, shape, or darkness setting is less than half as toasted on the top as it is on the bottom.The list of pros is long, and the list of cons short, but the biggest failure on this toaster is the critical one. All I ask is that it cook somewhat evenly, fit normal size bread, not take 10 minutes to cook, and be able to get dark enough in a single run.

This is so far the best toaster we bought! Simple, easy to use, takes larger slices, toasts come up just perfectly done...works quick and efficantly...price point perfect, not so massive. blends nicely on a counter ...great buy!!!!
