How much weight will it retract?

This is just an educated guess….there is decent tension on the retractor; however, I do not think it will retract much over a pound or two.

can you use this for ocean scuba diving?

I've used mine with various pieces of hunting equipment since buying it in 2013 without any problems. Don't know how water or salt water may impact it.
