I normally make many kilos of strawberry jam/preserves and for above quantities use about 50ml redcurrant juice (high in pectin) extracted from my small crop to add to the hulled strawberries. You can also experiment with preserving and jam sugars. If you grow your own strawberries it is up to you how you use them.
