Ballast fits my 2009 RX350 properly and works fine after 3 weeks
Ballast arrived promptly and fist under the headlight as expected. Some other ballasts DON'T fit my car, despite wording saying they do. Dimensions for this ballast were accurate. After 3 weeks, ballast is still working properly - it fires right up just like the genuine Lexus ballast still in the other headlight. While these are a pain to replace, and one reasonably handy can get YouTube instructions and DIY for just the cost of the ballast. Local shops wanted $1,200 to do it using only genuine Lexus parts, so you can save well over $1,000==============================================UPDATE: After almost 6 months, ballast STILL works great - definitely a good choice, and LOTS cheaper than "genuine LEXUS"!!

Modification might be needed if you are replacing one on RX8
If you are replacing the ballast on a (S1 up to 2008) RX8 this will work. (Don't think this applies to S2 as the headlights are different, after 08) The "Correct" Way to do it Is to remove bumper and then remove the headlight. With the headlight removed you spend 20+min with a heat gun to heat the headlight and separate the "glass" part from the housing as it is imposable to get the wire out without doing that. My way is the beginning portion but instead you cut the wire to remove the ballast(use scissors with plastic handles as ballast may still have a charge), then you make a slot or drill a hole in the housing for the wire and another going in to the place where the bulb goes, this way you do not have to unglue then reglue the "glass" part. There may be a proper way to do it that does not involve drilling in to the housing or ungluing it to fix it but that is one I do not know of. PS the connector that comes with it does not work for RX8 but you just have to unclip it and plug it in to the old one that you have to unclip to remove anyway (This is the correct ballast/size its just the design of the S1 headlights) (5 stars now as it works good, will update if it breaks)

This is my 3rd in 5 months and it's just gone out again. Very disappointing
It isn't a direct fit to my 05 Lexus LS430, however it's not hard to adapt it. My problem is this unit has already failed. It's just out of it's return date so I need to buy another. The same thing happened on the other side also, they are not simple to fit so this is very frustrating

Worked perfectly...
One headlight was flickering badly. I wasn't sure if it was the bulb, but it became clear quickly that it was the ballast. It took 5 minutes to swap this one in for the old one. It's been working perfectly for a few months. I'll update this review if it doesn't last.

Fit in an old Lexus though did need to swap out one wire harness
Installed in a 2008 Lexus RX350. Dimensionally and physically it’s a match up to the broken ballast. I’ve just installed and have no comments yet on longevity however I threw a couple of those blue pills in with it to have a fighting chance. The main light connector was a perfect match however the secondary connection was not. I swapped the secondary wire from the busted unit over to the new one, intoned “ let there be light” and it worked. While not part of this review my old unit shorted out after the headlight became full of water due to poor manufacturing on Toyota’s part. I added a few weep holes to the tray these units sit in within the light assembly plus an artistic application of RTV sealant around the headlight assembly seams. Wait and see.
