I love the way they look. These are just really fun to play with but they don't work as easy or as well as others. These are made of a different kind of plastic that is very brittle and they break. If you want stitch markers that last through project after project then you should probably buy something else like Clover split rings. If you need something else for bigger yarn than it's even more important for you to get a different kind. After the clip has been closed for a day or two they don't usually want to just pop open wide and because they are made of the plastic that breaks when too much pressure is placed on the arm. If you use it in thick yarn they'll be likely to break after they have been closed for a while and then opened up and tried to get over the bigger yarn. This is the problem I have had. I will still use them until they are all broken and gone because they are so pretty but I have to have other brands near by when I work on my crochet so they can be used when I accidentally break one of them and need a new one. So in the end...1. Yes, they do what they are supposed to do.2. Yes, they're very pretty.3. No, they do not last long because they break too easily.

You do need to be careful as these will break if depressed too far. Approx. 1" x 3/8". Love the diaper pin style. Wish they had more color to them as they can be hard to see/find in my stitchwork. Hold stitches well and the size prohibits unraveling. Able to 'stab' a loose piece of yarn for an extra sight marker. Most have unpolished edges but it shouldn't be enough to harm delicate yarn.UPDATE: I'm very unhappy. Having had these stored away since I purchased them last winter, I needed them for my latest project. Try to open one and it breaks. Okay, it happens. Tried another one, and it snaps. Started looking at these closer and since I put them away last year when I only used 4 red ones (because of yarn color) they have almost 'all' developed a minute crack in the shank. When I tried to open them up, each one snapped on me and they are now worthless and in the trashcan. Because of this breakage problem I have downgraded my rating. I could understand the breakage if these had been used before but they haven't been. EIGHTEEN of them had never even been opened. I had only used the 4 red ones last year, of which 1 broke on me after multiple uses and another 1 had snapped the first time I tried to open it, which is why I ‘had’ rated these at 4 stars.I'm off to try the  Clover Lock Ring Markers  (same style), as they don't seem to have this problem. A girlfriend has them and likes them. They are not as colorful, but at least they shouldn't break on me.

Bought these for my daughter to use. She loves them and they seem to work well for her. I am a bit concerned with how durable they will be, but so far she hasn't had any issues.

These are great! These are much more sturdy than the cheaper ones that I purchased from Amazon. Not even one of these have broken even with me moving them a lot. I actually finished my crocheting project without cussing even once! Love them!!

They are what I wanted, but broke very easily when trying simply to close the pin.
