Great Brad Nailer
Hard to beat this little brad nailer....especially the warranty. I don't forsee needing the warranty but it's the best.I've been using this brad nailer for a multitude of projects and it is really nice (over 1000 brads so far). I've used about every size brad it can carry and have had no problems with the tool itself. Loading is easy and quick and the swtch from bump to trigger is convenient. One time I struck a nail head and jammed a Brad in this tool. Clearing the jam was simple and quick with no tools required to get it done! It slowed me down less than a minute it figure out how to clear the jam....also didn' need the book to figure it out!! The only thing I find difficult with the tool is the depth adjustment, it's a little difficult to turn if you have really big fingers. Oh yeah, the case it comes with is nice and there's room to store some small boxes of Brads in it too.Overall I think Hitachi put a lot of thought into the design of this Brad Nailer with the user in mind and I highly recommend this tool.NOTE: I was raised to be a Craftsman guy but Hitachi is winning me over...this is the third Hitachi tool I've bought and the Quality, design and warranty you get for the price is tough to beat....food for thought Craftsman your tools aint what they used to be and you can'l live on a name forever!.........I'm the generation who has a son to teach and I'm not recommending Craftsman to him (most recently I bought a Craftsman dozer/snowplow blade for my craftsman lawn tractor and the blade lift welds broke the first time using it to move snow; I couldn't even drive the tractor till I removed the plow. That is not the quality I want to depend on and was the final straw that broke this camels back with Craftsman. Even my dad gave up on them and sold his craftsman tractor for a John Deere.

Excellent Brad Nailer
I went and got this off Amazon at a ridiculous low price from one of the places that sells them reconditioned. I needed a small brad nailer so I went with this one. I read up on Hitachi's and always found good reviews of them. For the small price I got it and a savings off new I went with this. It has worked great, and has been a life saver doing some trim work around the house. I really am happy with how it has worked. It has been accidentally kicked around and dropped here and there and it has not failed. Only thing was a piece of trim that is on the side fell off, but I didn't care. These are tools that will take abuse and if that black plastic molding on it falls off I do not care. The functionality isn't affected. We don't buy these things and expect them to look new years down the road.Nails have been easy to find. I know some larger brads are hard to find but the regular abundant ones are at most the big box stores and good to use. I have only shot hitachi's and they have worked fine. This tool came reconditioned and I was happy with how it looked. It wasn't really messed up or bad looking, but again remember we don't get this for looks. It came with a nice little case for it and includes some eye protection goggles that I liked. I know a lot of folks hate them but man they were good for me, nice fit.I do not regret this buy, it has been a good gun so far. If you will be using this here or there, this gun is ok.

Worth Every Penny
This is a great brad nailer at a very fair price. My only regret is I didn't get this tool years ago. We recently remodeled a bathroom and I had to install new trim. When I did the same thing 2 years ago in another, smaller, bathroom, it literally took me a couple hours to drill the nail holes (to prevent splitting), nail up the trim, and then sink the nails with a nail set. This past weekend it took me 20 minutes including the setup/tear-down of the compressor. I have a a very small Husky 1.5 gallon compressor that delivers 2 CFM at 80 PSI and it had no problem running the gun in single fire mode. This is my first pneumatic nailer so I practiced on some scrap trim to get the depth set correctly. All the controls are well documented in the user guide and were easy to work on my unit. The nailer has tremendous power, even with my small compressor, and easily drove 2", 18 gauge brads through Oak trim into drywall and pine studs. My compressor doesn't have a built in oiler so I put 10 drops of pneumatic tool oil in the air inlet as recommended in the user guide. The nailer doesn't come with oil or brads. I picked both up at my local Lowes, using the Bostitch brads recommended by another reviewer. Indoors this is a very loud tool so I wore hearing protectors (purchased separately) along with the safety glasses supplied with the tool.

Great nailer for the money, but not contractor grade
The Hitachi brad nailer is inexpensive, lightweight and works very well. I've been running Bostitch brads in it with no problems. The feature set on this tool includes the ability to go from single shot mode to bump-fire with the flip of a switch. I'm using it for precision work and thus don't use bump fire but it's there if you need it. The depth control works very well, and doesn't require a tool to adjust. It seems like it would be very easy to clear a jam... but mine has never jammed. One issue with this (and many other) brad nailers is that there isn't a clear indication where the brad is going to end up. The nose piece - the part that you press up against the work isn't close to where the brad enters teh work. This isn't a huge problem and you will learn to judge the placement pretty quickly, but I wonder why the manufacturers don't design a nosepiece that will give a clearer visual of the exact placement.Mny pneumatic nailers come with oil. This one doesn't. If you take the nailer out of your shop to jobsites, you might want to find a small bottle of pneumatic tool oil that will store in the case. Hitachi includes a set of safety glasses in the case, but no oil.Overall this nailer is good for the home user. The magazine is plastic, which helps achieve very light weight. However the plastic and general lightweight unit does not seem rugged - a drop on a hard floor will likely result in damage. For a homeowner/woodworker or hobbyist, this is a good choice at a very reasonable price. If I was a contractor or other professional where the tool got used more roughly, I would probably try to get something with a metal magazine that might be a bit more rugged.
