Clannad After Story Complete Series Collection [DVD]

I'm a fan of clannad. I've watched both seasons, played through the visual novel and the two spinoffs. Let me just tell you a little story about how I picked it up.Friend: Hey you should try this show called clannad, you loved angel beats so you'll absolutely love this.Me: How long is it? And what is it even about?Friend: Its pretty long. And it's kinda hard to explain what it's about but it's basically a highschool romance story.Me: Is it one of those ecchi stories?Friend: Nope.Me: Not worth my time.Later on I finally decided to watch it. Best choice I have ever made. There is a reason it is a classic as many reviews have discussed. You are going to need to strap in for a long show however. Over the span of 4 days I watched it all. By the end, I was in a puddle of tears and my own blood (completely unrelated) at 4 in the morning making sobbing sounds like that of a constipated cow in labor dying of a chronic lung disease. So yeah it's great!

This is the first anime that made me cry like a child (and I'm a 20-year-old dude). I loved the first season of Clannad; it was enjoyable, but nothing to special. I went into this anime without knowing much, and it hit me like a train. I got to the point where I hated it, so much so that I almost didn't finish. Then I reluctantly sat through the end and boy was it worth it. I have never felt so relieved or happy in all my life. It quickly became one of my top favorites. If you enjoy romance anime ​that don't mind ripping your heart out before putting it back in check it out. I streamed it a few years ago and decided to buy this collection recently. It is worth every penny! I would pay double if I had too. In short, it is a superb anime with good art, touching music, and extremely deep characters. Buy this, you will not regret it.

Wow! this story will have you on the edge of your seat.. The story continues from where Clannad leaves off. It follows the story of Tomoya and Nagisa as their relationship continues to take turns for the worse and then better you will be crying and then laughing all the way through until the end. I found myself feeling the pain and joy and so much more as the characters grow and change over time. This is a classic must have for any anime collector.. I would rate this a must watch! This title is the best one in my collection.After watching this I will say that you will never forget this title..Each episode was deep in drama, Many nights I couldn't get past the ep due to the feelings of love, anger, joy, sorrow and more.

This is the only show/series/anime to ever make me cry. Other anime's have made me tear up but this made me bawl like a baby :'(This is probably the most dramatic and heart aching/warming series you'll ever see and if you're human then you will cry after watching this series. Clannad AS is far better than it's first season Clannad, which is meant for you to get used to the characters and understand them, while AS rips your heart out stomps on it then towards the end patches your heart up and sews it back into your chest.I also love how this included the "What if" Twin Sisters side arc, which is about Tomoya choosing one of the sisters instead of having chose Nagisa. Just like how the first season had the "What if" Tomoya and Tomoyo arc.Wonderful series and I highly recommend to all anime fans. Make sure you have a box of tissues next to you cuz you'll cry at least twice, I know I did.

If you're looking for an excuse to spend a decent amount of time sobbing like a little girl (sorry, Ushio) then this is the show for you. Almost universally regarded as one of, if not the, saddest anime of all time, Clannad: After Story is more than just a depressing continuation of Clannad. Very rarely in anime have we seen, in my opinion, a stage of life that is even more important than high school: the transition into adulthood. And Clannad: AS portrays it so perfectly. The trials and the struggles that we watch Tomoya and Nagisa embark on as they leave their days in high school behind are so relatable and told so well that even without the massive amounts of heartache this series becomes known for, I would have still put it in my top ten list. All I can say is be prepared to cry and best have another series on standby after you experience "The Void". Seriously, there is a reason this show is almost universally regarded as one of the top pieces of anime in history. If you have not seen it yet, do yourself a favor, buy Clannad and Clannad: After Story and watch it. Seriously, just watch it.

This truly is a must watch (especially if this sort of genre appeals to you)This anime touches on a simple life in Japan, filled with emotion, hardship, comedy, love, and tragedy. Not many animes take the romantic relationship this far. Thus, the characters never really develop that much in other animes. There is plenty of character development in this anime! However, I suggest you watch the first season before watching the second. This story will honestly make you cry at times. Admittedly, I haven't watched many sad animes/movies/shows, but this is the only one, so far, to make me cry. (I have seen Grave of the Fireflies)Even if you decide to stream this anime, you should definitely purchase it as well. You will be glad you did. It really is worth the money.The only gripes I had about this purchase were: the bright yellow subtitles are a little obtrusive and the translations aren't always to my liking. That could just be my preference towards the streamed version.

Clannad After Story carries on straight after Clannad as Tomoya, Nagisa & crew take the next step in their lives so please watch the previous series first. 25 episodes: 22 main series, 1 extra episode being a prequel to the whole series (episode 23 on the disc), 1 recap episode acting as an episode 23 (episode 25 on the disc) & 1 OVA episode (episode 24 on the disc)This series got me in tears multiple times and I'm not afraid to admit that. The humour is still here too as well as the soundtrackI recommend you watch the series in this order:ClannadClannad OVAClannad After Story OVAClannad After StoryOne final word: Please pay attention to the lore mentioned throughout the series as this will matter. *You need to have watched the first Clannad series before watching this*I love Clannad. It is a brilliant slice-of-life Japanese anime. The characters are well developed and I got very emotionally attached to them. The animation is beautiful- I really can't fault it. You could watch it for the animation alone. There are themes of friendship, family and hope throughout which I really enjoyed.The sense of humour in this anime is quirky. I think you either love it or you don't get it. However, I'm assuming if you're thinking of purchasing Clannad: After Story you have already watched the first Clannad series so already know about this.

I totally loved the original Clannad series when I got it last year, and just had to see the sequel (I've ordered the movie too, although I gather others don't rate it very highly). I was not disappointed - it is the best photo-play I have ever seen (in case you are wondering, I'm a 52 year-old man!). I have never been moved to tears before by what is basically a cartoon; parts of the story broke my heart (no spoilers here though!). (Actually, that's not quite true; 'Angel Beats' had me sobbing too!) Maybe it's because some of the events in the storyline were similar to my own experience, and it brought back sad memories; I don't know. But whatever the reason, it requires a great deal of emotional participation from the viewer; I wouldn't call it light viewing. Every anime fan (or even if you're not!) should see this series, and preferably its predecessor too - it is totally awesome! I hope there will be more in this series.

I made a review on the Clannad box set if you would like to go and read that :)I am just making another review on this to tell anyone else about the problem I encountered with this product.I love this Anime SO much; it is definitely my most favourite Anime EVER and I have a passion for it no words can even BEGIN to describe!~ It's unreal how much this series touched my heart; it caused me many tears!~I truly loved the characters, the story line was heartbreaking but the ending was amazing and truly completed this Anime perfectly!~The problem I encountered was that because I live in the UK, I didn't realise that I was in the wrong region to play this product, so when I got this order yesterday and tried to play it, it said 'The Wrong Region' and so I now have to go and buy a multi-regional DVD player which isn't bad, it's just annoying that I didn't realise this before.So, if you are wanting to buy this series, just keep that in mind if you are from anywhere else other than the US and that you might need to buy a multi-regional DVD player.This is the only reason that stops me giving this review five stars when the Anime deserves as many stars as possible!~I recommend this to ANYONE out there reading this!~

Clannad: After Story is undoubtedly one of, if not the most poignant, moving and heartbreaking anime that exists out there. Never has a story affected me so much as this. The life that Tomoya leads with Nagisa is truly one of the best stories ever written. The soundtrack fits perfectly with every scene, emphasising the emotional or comical values that the scene is meant to convey. And the Dub, which is rare to be very good in an anime, is very good, albeit not perfect, but the characters that feature most, Tomoya, Nagisa, Akio and others have excellent voices that fit the characters very well. In conclusion, I will say this how it is, Clannad: After Story, is an anime masterpiece that will be treasured for many years to come. I cannot recommend this and its predecessor, 'Clannad' enough. 5/5
