AVANTEK Wireless Door Bell, BA-11 Waterproof Battery Operated Doorbell Chime Operating at 1000 Feet, Portable Door Chime kit with 52 Melodies, 5 Volume Levels, and CD Quality Sound

I purchased this product because I have had people walk into my hallway from the front porch thinking it was an apartment, when infact it leads to my door upstairs that doesn't stay shut. Setting it up was extremely easy, screwed it into the wall near my thermostat and put the doorbell right next to my door. I also bought a "Ring the bell" sign on amazon, perfect little bundle I just screwed it into the wall on the porch and babam, can't miss it. I bought this over a month ago, still working perfectly and it has been used many many times. I even had an officer ring my bell at 4 AM because I left my car door open, quite useful. One of the standout features of this doorbell is its incredible range. With a range of 1000 feet it allows you to pick the perfect spot within your household so when the bell is rung you'll hear it. The 52 melodies to choose from are another great feature of this doorbell. I love the fact that when Christmas comes around I can change it to a Christmas theme, and there are many more to choose from. The sound is quite crisp and clear. Another aspect of this doorbell that I appreciate is the 5 volume levels. Whether I am in a quiet room or a noisy environment, I can adjust the volume to ensure that I hear the chime without it being too loud or disruptive. Plus, the fact that this doorbell is waterproof and battery-operated makes it incredibly versatile and easy to use. I can install it anywhere without worrying about wiring or the weather damaging it. Also I purchased this on February 23rd, 2023 and I have yet to change the batteries, and it is used quite often with the neighbor's kids and other people. I have yet to have any issues, and if I do I will update the review. Overall I highly recommend this product it is extremely handy, cheap, has good battery life, easy to setup, waterproof and easy to use. Edit 6/23/2023; Doorbell still works fine without having to change the battery to this day. And again, the neighbors kid's ring the bell at least once or twice per day. Edit 7/29/2023; Doorbell still works fine, haven't needed to change the battery on the doorbell button or sound device. Edit 11/14/2023; Doorbell still works fine. Edit 12/08/2023; Doorbell still works well, it has been nearly 10 months and the battery has not needed to be changed. It is used 1-4 times a day. Edit 3/18/2024; Still working great without a battery change yet. Edit 4/22/2024; Had to change the battery today, lasted quite awhile. I only needed to get 3 new triple A battery’s for the device that plays the sound, not the doorbell button. The doorbell button is still going strong. Overall great product. Edit 11/29/2024; Doorbell still works great, only changed the batteries once total which I mentioned in my last edit. Still haven't needed to change the battery in the actual doorbell button. After over a year and a half of reliable use I highly recommend this product. It has survived cold New Hampshire winters and hot summers, still going strong.

It is as loud as the existing mechanical chime (which gets very little use because its doorbell button is too far from the door). To install the doorbell button, I taped a magnetic sheet at the back and placed it on our front metal door. Very solid, not flimsy. No issues connecting with the chime despite the metal door, although there is a 1 second lag (but a LED light activates when the button is pressed, so it helps to assure that the doorbell is working). It looks good despite the plastic exterior, not high end, but not cheap. We will have to wait for the durability of the button and the batteries. For greater convenience, I placed the chime inside the existing mechanical chime box (it required to take the chime apart to make it fit in the box, using some tape, but I don't recommend doing so unless you know what you are doing - it is easy to break the internal wires and it will void the return warranty).

Easy to install

This is lightweight, loud enough, and easy to install. My only complaint is that of all the 52 ring options available, only a few are not obnoxious. By the time I was through the crowing rooster, bleating goat, and the multitude of tinny, electronic-sounding music suites that last forever, I was worried that I wasn’t going to find a suitable tone. Finally at the end of the list they are some more traditional and brief options. I did find one that will be okay. I installed the receiver/sounding end low enough that battery replacement won’t require a stepstool. It’s hidden behind the hallway door, which is almost always open. You’ll need a drill with an appropriate sized bit to do the job. Installing the button was a little more involved. I had to do some sanding to remove the construction adhesive that was behind the previous button assembly. This button is big enough to cover up the mess that the old button left underneath. It installs with a double-sided adhesive that is included. I can’t rave about this product, but for the price and ease of use/installation, it’s a good value.
