Scrap Upholstery Leather Mixed Jumbo Pieces Lw 12 Sf

I am quite satisfied with my package of leather. From the seller's description I hoped to receive enough to bind 3 or 4 books using letter-size paper. This will be more like 7 to 9. Plus a lot of pocket notebooks. There is not one piece that will not be of use. All are of a weight suitable for hand sewing with a light awl. There are some negatives: Some pieces have flaws, three of the largest are blue-black; one of the browns is, well, a yucky color. The very nice forest green is going to be a challenge, but is usable. A good-sized, rectangular piece of fine deep red almost makes up for that, though. Delivery was quick, and the whole was well-wrapped against the weather. More colors, and it would be 5 stars. A little cheaper, and I'd have sent for more.

Most of the pieces were beautiful leather and exactly what I was looking for. One piece and half of another piece were a lower quality, and I won't be able to use them for what I was planning (which was bookbinding). It'll work great for something else, and I'll just have to find something else to use those pieces for. Not a big deal. It's still really good quality find. I'm really glad for the variety of colors and especially the one light grey piece in my package.The textures and colors of the leather varied. 3 pieces had really consistent colors and textures (feels like the best quality), a muted black, red brown and dark brown. 4 were a little softer, with variations in color (these were the most beautiful and suited to my purpose), grey, a varied brown, a chocolate brown, and a really dark chocolate brown. The last two were a really shiny black, and a regular brown. The texture of these two was a little too inconsistent, but will work for other kinds of projects.

The box I got was smaller than I anticipated. I weighed my selection and it was 2.5 lbs. All of the pieces I received were approximately 15"x9" give or take a couple of inches. The weight is light and good for a standard sewing machine. The color selection was good, mostly neutral and good variety. Brown/black/green/taupe. The price is a little high. I can get scrap leather at my local shop for ten dollars per lb. This amounts to about 14/lb. The peices were rolled nicely and free from Mark's or holes making them very usable.

I have had negative experiences with mixed bags of leather pieces before, so my expectations were low. This experience was different. First, the shipping speed was astounding. I ordered on Wednesday, and the package was in my mailbox on Friday morning. Next is the size and variety of the pieces. I was surprised, but very happy, when I pulled the leather out of the package and unrolled it on the table top. There is one red, two blues, several blacks and a variety of browns. Additionally, there is a variety of thickness. All the pieces have a least one straight or semi-straight edge. They vary from 18" to 30" long and 8" to 14" wide. For my needs, this is perfect! Finally, the leather came rolled rather than folded. I know this is a small detail that makes little difference, but it was still a nice touch. I will definitely order this product again, so long as Dangerous Threads continues to offer it.Edited for spelling issues.

I love it! I received 12 gorgeous and good size pieces! I wish there was a neutral and colorful set. I love the different colors that I have ordered 4 sets and in each there was one color. I have received a emerald green, olive green, navy blue, and bright yellow. I really love the colors! The browns and blacks are really nice too!

i received 11 pieces, most of which were about 12x12 inches. The description is accurate, but the photo is somewhat misleading. I got a bunch of scrappier pieces rather than the big beautiful ones in the photo. It will require some creativity to utilize some of the cuts.

The colors are beautiful and leather is soft. I was expecting them to be uniform or near abouts but the ones I wanted to use are too small. Looking forward to working with them anyway.

I would wholeheartedly recommend this for a newbie who is wanting to get into leather making. It's great for making clutches or other small items. It is great if you are looking for leather that is all ready to be used. I was really impressed at how large the pieces were! Worth every penny!!!
