Works well but pricey -- and ouch! that display
Everything works well but we don't like the display. It is too bright and cannot be set to turn off when the unit is turned off. There is a workaround -- press the Up Arrow twice on the remote control, for heaven's sake -- but what a dodo way to do something that should just be an option in settings. We do not use it as a bedroom radio and you would not want to either. Even on the lowest setting the display is too bright. And if you turned it on in the night to check the time you (and anyone else in the room) would have trouble getting back to sleep. Frankly I would rather the alarm buttons could be swapped for station presets.OTOH it is a quality product in the Tivoli tradition. The sound is really good - best I have heard in this sort of price range. All the electronic features, tuning, Bluetooth, work as specified. My wife likes to listen to a German radio station over the internet via her iPhone, for example. No problem. Looks good. Feels solid. But you would not want to pay any more than the already high price.

very disappointing
The sound was good however as a clock radio you want to be able to look at the time in the dark but we could not leave this clock on as it illuminated the whole bedroom at night and could not sleep with it next to you, also we wanted to be woken by the radio but the only option was a very loud, buzzer which woke you startled. Overall for the price it was very disappointing which is why we has sent it back for a refund.

Truly stupid button layout and design
It's white and blue and so you are supposed to think it is cool like Apple right, but the actual way the buttons are laid out and things is beyond belief in it's moronic approach. For example see that big one centre at the bottom, you would assume that to be channel change or volume, right? NO! It is the alarm time changing dial, which you use once in a blue moon. Want to change channels easily? Forget about it! Want to select presets easily? No chance! Want more than 5 presets? WHaaaat are you mad? Who knows of the existence of more than 5 radio stations??It has a remote control with tiny tiny buttons with little obvious hierarchy. Want a subtle light on an alarm clock? No chance we're going to burn out your retina! The quality of the speaker is pretty good, the only reason I bought it is because I can chain another speaker to it on the other side of the bed, and bluetooth up my laptop and laze around with a nice sound quality, but really, the frustrations of its inept design just won't quit.It is just beyond belief that this sort of blinkered design gets made, even five minutes testing with someone who actually wants to use it would have fixed some of the issues.

Average
Tivoli, not exactly a household name but apparantly maker of high quality audio equipment, apparantly.Plastic case off white colour, large display, bluetooth ability all sounds good but at the RRP you would expect a more solidly made radio with better sound than is offered here.Much better available for half the price.Overrated.

Love this item! Please all read!
The unit that I really like is the Albergo+. Available in graphite or white it aims to provide an nice 'realistic' sound, that works with all types of music as well as speech radio, such as BBC Radio 4. It also manages to deliver a remarkably large sound from its compact cabinet - so doesn't take up too much space, making it ideal for the likes of a kitchen and/or bedside table. The usability is also very straightforward - key features, such as setting the alarm, and adjusting the volume can be accessed from the fascia - while the supplied remote control enables you to set further features, such as loudness, bass and treble, and also pre-set EQ settings. Simple! Arguably, though, the key feature is wireless Bluetooth, which means it can wirelessly play music stored on any of your Bluetooth-enable devices - think smartphones, laptops, tablets, etc. So even if you change your phone, you don't have to worry about changing your Albergo+ - like you may have to do with a sound system that has a 'dock' for a specific model of phone, such as an iPhone.Essentially, this means that a whole family can connect and play their music through the Albergo+. And it's very much future proof - which can be a concern for all when buying tech products these days.
